Our goal is to see the Combat Theater remain populated around the clock from this Saturday on. I know there are several of you who have posted your desires for a reduced icon/radar 2-sided historical type arena. Well, here it is. I strongly encourage you to relay this post to your friends who may have interest in this arena. Tell everyone who you think would enjoy this. Help us make this arena a full time alternative to the Aces High main arena. We're trying to do our part by building a fun setup, that's all we can do. It's up to you to click on "Combat Theater" when you log on.

I look forward to seeing you in the air.

I'll give this a try later, if there are some numbers on. Don't take that wrong, I just won't have very long to fly when I get in...

Could someone enable P-47D-11 at all fields please?  I couldn't find a field where it was enabled.

Thanks!

Good luck with this.  I was in the CT earlier this morning and it's a rush.

Mostly me rushing to the ground after getting blown away by 109's.  But alot of fun.  :D

Well different perspective on the CT.
All I saw was a jug, couple of spits,
and typhoons running this way.. and typhoons running that way.

Spent the better part of an hour chasing typhoons all over the arena.

Didn't find that very appealing..

You were in the wrong spot, then. I saw Spit V's, P-51B's, F6F's, and Hurri's. I was in the trusty A5 and got a few of them, too. 'Course a few got me as well.  ;)

It was fun. You had to be a lot more careful, dots change to hard-charging enemies in a blink. Bounces were easier to make- especially if someone left the keyboard, eh Maniac?  ;)

My take on the CT tonight:

Logged in, said there were 34 people in the arena.  Yay!

Took off (P-51B), flew towards enemy base.  Noticed that the friendlies in the area seemed happy with milling around our base.  Got in a tangle with two 109's that tried to tag-team me, eventually the fight worked back towards my base and the friendlies jumped in and got both 109's.

Then lo and behold....nothing.  Flew around trying to find a fight and couldn't find a thing.  There were around half a dozen friendlies up and according to dar no enemies.   34-odd people in the arena and I couldn't find anything to do besides look at the scenery.

I was forced to assume that the enemies (and a lot of friendlies) were either AFK and not flying, or milkrunning undefended bases.  Repeated queries on the text buffer as to where the action was netted no result whatsoever.  Despite the 34-odd people logged on it seemed like a ghost town.  Hardly any activity in the text buffer.

Got frustrated and logged.  Milkrunning doesn't interest me.

Bragging rights. What's needed is bragging rights.

Hangtime, Hristo, where are you when we need you?  :D (Good Lord, can you believe I am even asking for this?!) For better or worse, these two guys were inspired leaders, and could whip the masses up.

I had a blast in the CT today and tonight

some great fights!

some things I think that would help the idea spread::

a 'check 6' type atmosphere (with the right terrain) Have the arena open for a certain time (say, for 3-5 hour periods on weekends) where there are specific goals to be accomplished. german tanks need to advance to X base. Allied bombers need to carpet bomb Y factories. etc etc. If the CT was a mini-scenario in itself, it'd be a blast.

get squads organized in there so that we can do some historical recreations. Can someone say 'ploesti'?

scoring. I bet when it gets added, the numbers will balance out between MA and CT.

the CT staff deserves a lot of credit. they have a pretty good vision of the whole 'historical thing' and i hope they stick to it. I used to love the wb 2.77 historical arena, and i hope this catches on even better then that did.

Certainly is a change of pace from the MA.  I had some fun, and will be checking back.  The only strange thing was I died twice to Killshooter.  I can't remember the last time I had a Killshooter death in the MA.  Not sure what it means.

I must be missing someting Karnak as I have yet to see an elitist attitude from anyone in the CT so far.
I sincerely hope that kind of attitude stays out of the arena.

Come on Karnak, you gotta admit that goosestepping is good for a laugh.   :)

Seriously, I didn't any see especially elitist attitudes in the CT.
