Karnak...

Where are you finding this elitist attitude?

So far, from what I've read on the boards and in that arena, everyone seems to be having a pretty good time.  Its DIFFERENT from the Main Arena, the radar is no longer AWACS/JSTARS baloney and the matchup seems pretty even.  (I'm not into the historical match ups...my thoughts on what the CT should be vary a lot from others.  But, I feel what we have is a great compromise of many good ideas).

I liked it, and flew it for a while until my squaddies ICQ'd me to help them out in the Main.

Me thinks you have a personality issue with the CT staff or something.  I do not see this elitist BS you claim is so prevalent.

Whoa. Where'd that come from?

I happened to fly LW this time because I happened to be trying to become proficient in the 190A5, much like I tried to be proficient in the P-51, A6m5, La5, etc.,

I saw no elitist attitude of which you speak. I saw guys having a pretty good time. Sorry you didn't, but calm down.

Edit: Changed "so" to "saw"

Karnak you need to name names.  If you just throw accusations at "Luftwaffe snobs" you are going to insult a lot of people who didn't say anything to you.

Well, the LW actually has it in the bellybutton in the CT. They face an overwhelming variety of AC that fight with different ACM styles. Mainly, the LW being almost purely B&Z (xcept 109f4 which can turn a little bit), vs allies which have 3 better hi-speed B&Z planes (P47d11, P5b, tiffie) and access to a horde of T&B planes (hurricane, seafire) & planes which are almost T&B and B&Z hybrids, the Mossie,f4u-1 and the spitV/IX

So, allies face constantly E-fighting B&Z while LW face everything else. Not to mention the disparity on bombers and jabo, where the allies have a highly survivable turbolaser packin' B-26 vs the paint scratching Balsa wood Ju88. Thank god the icons are short for the buff gunners too.

Jabo leaves the LW with only 1X 190 mod that carry more than 1 bomb of ord and the rest are just 1-bomb lobbing 109's and 190's.. and leaves them low alt facing spits and hurricanes (where they really dont stand a chance vs them).

Allies have the 51b (2X 500lb bombs + 6 rockets), mossie (2X500lb + 8 rockets or 4 X500lbs), hurricane (2X1k) , spitIX (2X250kg 1X500lb bomb) and the typhoon (2X1k or 8 rockets).

In essence,

Allies=Superiority in high speed handling craft B&Z , vast superiority in low alt T&B, dominance in Jabo/bombing. Carrier plane capability.

LW= Leather seats, better beer, stout sheep, better climb rate (109s), more cannon packin' (190's), slight superiority as long as they stay higher than the rest.

I would say they should add the 205 and 202 to the LW arsenals and put the mossie in lieu of the bf110 to give LW some Jabo ability. I would also remove the Flaktank and Panzer from the choices of the allies, dont they have m16 and the m8? Besides, if a panzer is near, so will a tiffie or hurricane be...very quickly.

Been enjoying the CT as it is now, 109f4 much fun, but it wont be fun once it starts getting more numbers.. and the allies start swatting fields left and right because they got the planes and the ord to dominate both speed fights and turn fights  :(

As rude would say, A WHINE HAS BEEN RECORDED.

("LW I feel your pain!"  ;)  :D )

Karnak

I was joking with ya man  :)

folks do that to each other. They joke and mock and make fun of. 80% of the time thats all it is people just having fun with each other.

I have done it and will do it. People will do it to me. Right or wrong it is irrelevant. I still believe its up to you to decide how you will let it effect you.

Now I wasn't there but if it goes beyond the run90 runstange spitdweeb thing then I can see how some people could get offended.

Also no offense but coming to the bbs with vague references to lw elitist mocking the allies plane choice it only opens yourself up to more mocking.

I'm sorry you find it so unpleasant but from all the games I've been in its always the same.

sissyfires and runstangs.

Also there's an element of fun to working folks up. So if they are calling you a toejamfire pilot go kill um again.

I know I hate when I'm talkin smack to someone and they kill me I shut right up  :)

Anyway Have a good holiday........

I'll stick to the TOD or scenarios for my "historical" fix.

The Combat Theater is nothing more than the MA with a limited planeset, less people, no one capturing fields and very few to none actually working together.

Everyone's too busy gang banging the single damaged plane to break off and go after the other 4 guys chasing a damaged friendly.

Not to mention, the theater of operations is something that's been rehashed a billion times, either here, or in AW or in WB.

Eastern Front woudl be nice, especially if these setups will stay up for only a week at a time!

I gotta agree with Moose.

It's a game, and as such meant to be enjoyable, we all pay for this entertainment.

I personally log off when I begin to get spun up, as I refuse to pay $15 a month to be pissed off. Especially when I can get the wife to do it for free.

If ya allow someone to piss you off then you hand that person power over yourself.

If you allow them to run you out of the arena, then you've lost and they have won.

I've seen more than one negative post about "luftwaffe" from Karnak.

The remarks of one individual antagonizing Karnak should hardly warrant the use of terms like "elitist Luftwaffe fans", "Luftwaffe snobs" and the like. Such remarks are broad sweeping and entirely inaccurate.

I don't feel the CT is setup in favor of the AXIS, to me it appears the planeset is fairly evenly matched.

eastern front would be nice because you could sneak in 202s/205s and maybe hurricane or spit.

We just dont have a small enough map or a large map with lots of bases.
