Got me stumped there Monk.  I remember the original show from 38 years ago.  They sure don't make 'em like they used to.  That looks like a fireman's cap the Captain is wearing.

But my memory is kinda fuzzy.  I think Capt. Kangaroo was a fireman, wasn't he?   Mr. Greenjeans was a farmer, I remember that.

Does anyone here remember?  Now you got me thinking about it Monk.  LOL

man I miss those old shows.  The only decent kids shows on now are animaniacs and recess.

Back in highschool a freind of mine once told me "You can tell you're too high, when you start to come down and realise your're watching Captain Kangaroo,  'cause man, it's not on anymore"

it was some little 5 min cartoon that came on Capt. Kangaroo in the mid to late 70's.  It was to promote proper oral hygene :)  Toothopolis was somebodies teeth and they were always fighting evil bacteria that were trying to break down the walls of Toothopolis (the teeth)

Late 70's!?

I was watching the Kaptain in the early 60's. Y'all are babies.

We had some good crap to watch here in CA. Diver Dan, Engineer Bill, Sherrif John, Hobo Kelly, Paul Winchell Show (with knucklehead smith), and of course the Kaptain. Who was called Kangaroo because he had so many pockets.

They look like a bunch of poster children for pederasty.

No way in hell they would get anywhere near my kids.

Edit: He was probably called Kangeroo because he liked to jump children.
