The Map...
First cudos to AWWabbit for all of his time and effort in creating this map. It isn't an easy task. Now the flaws that everyone is talking about...
Pizza Map - This is the complaint I have heard most often. All I can say about this is SHEESH!!! I doubt seriously if most players see the entire map more than 2 or 3 times in a session. If you do, then you are probably an alt monkey and should call Domino's immediately!! Realistic? No. It is, however, much more balanced than many of the 'realistic' maps.
Map tiles (skins) - An effort has been made to give us something different, ie. a desert terrain. This is a good thing. However, there are a few problems. The fact that many of the tiles are base colored with a very bright color and then flecked with dark spots makes it extremely hard to spot dots against them. The bright color also contributes to the ease with which one can lose icons ( it took me a number of tries at different icon colors before I found something that ALMOST works

). Another flaw would be the transition tiles. These are the tiles used to connect all of the tiles together. In many cases, the transitions aren't handled well. Hence, you get areas of terrain that look like "cheap motel carpet". NONE of this is terminal. HT tells me that the brightness problem should be addressed shortly. Wabbit, just a suggestion...Nuttz has made some really nice tiles for his terrains (COD, can't believe I'm sayin something nice about Nuttz

). You might want to ask his advice.
Map too big - This depends on your perspective (pun intended

). The previous maps we were using were designed for a max of about 250 players. During peak times, I have seen nearly twice that number. Instead of threatening to quit...recruit more new players

.
Fields too far apart - HT set the max distance between fields at 1.5 sectors (about 35 miles). In a few cases, the max distance was used. In many more, the fields are as close as 5 miles. Load up the old terrains offline and check. You should find that the distance between fields has not changed (perspective

).
In summation... the majority of the problems that people are complaining about are not real problems. They are perspective based misconceptions . I am sure that the REAL problems (ie. the terrain tiles) will be addressed shortly.
Once again Wabbit, thanks for your effort. There are as many out here that appreciate it as don't
