Recounts happen all the time, nothing strange. Heck gw may have won in the recount, at least then he could say he had been elected.

Selective recounts do not happen all the time, nor do recounts where the rules change until the outcome changes.

I know the AKs are fond of stealth raids, but if that were their only consideration, they wouldn't have put the field nearest the southern HQ on a high plateau like they did.  The climb required makes it nearly impossible to sneak, which in my humble opinion is not a bad thing.  Not every field needs to be sneakable.

I wish this crap would stop...it's a game.

HTC has grown their offering, update by update since the beginning...nothing has changed that will bring about loss of life or for that matter, anything of any real significance.

If you don't like the new version, that's cool....to come here and vent is cool as well. However, to say I'm quittin or HTC better change it soon or I'm leaving is a little melodramatic IMO.

Say it sucks...say you don't like it...that's all fine. Just try and realize this...HTC will do whatever they need to do to increase their market share, ramp up profits and in general, grow their business. Take a step back, suck up some air and give this new release 30 days...you might find a way to have fun inspite of your initial judgements.

Oh...and BTW, you AK's who made this mad mad world we now play in...whatever you do, don't wear you hearts on your sleeves guys...to make this effort, irregardless of whether everyone loves your map or not, garners my respect. To take the time to contribute to our silly pastime speaks volumes more than the most long winded threads....keep on walkin the walk and thanks!

Tour 30: Infrared has 0 kills and has been killed 0 times against the AKcurly squad.
Tour 29: Infrared has 0 kills and has been killed 0 times against the AKcurly squad
Tour 28: Infrared has 0 kills and has been killed 0 times against the AKcurly squad
Tour 27: Infrared has 0 kills and has been killed 0 times against the AKcurly squad
Same for the rest of the tours.

What I'm wondering is why you'd outright lie?  Or did you just forget what handle you're currently posting under and what handle you were using at the time?

Lee...
So, you have 7 children to deal with...think about your poor wife...she has 8 :D .

The Map...
First cudos to AWWabbit for all of his time and effort in creating this map. It isn't an easy task. Now the flaws that everyone is talking about...

Pizza Map - This is the complaint I have heard most often. All I can say about this is SHEESH!!! I doubt seriously if most players see the entire map more than 2 or 3 times in a session. If you do, then you are probably an alt monkey and should call Domino's immediately!! Realistic? No. It is, however, much more balanced than many of the 'realistic' maps.

Map tiles (skins) - An effort has been made to give us something different, ie. a desert terrain. This is a good thing. However, there are a few problems. The fact that many of the tiles are base colored with a very bright color and then flecked with dark spots makes it extremely hard to spot dots against them. The bright color also contributes to the ease with which one can lose icons ( it took me a number of tries at different icon colors before I found something that ALMOST works :) ). Another flaw would be the transition tiles. These are the tiles used to connect all of the tiles together. In many cases, the transitions aren't handled well. Hence, you get areas of terrain that look like "cheap motel carpet". NONE of this is terminal. HT tells me that the brightness problem should be addressed shortly. Wabbit, just a suggestion...Nuttz has made some really nice tiles for his terrains (COD, can't believe I'm sayin something nice about Nuttz :D ). You might want to ask his advice.

Map too big - This depends on your perspective (pun intended :D ). The previous maps we were using were designed for a max of about 250 players. During peak times, I have seen nearly twice that number. Instead of threatening to quit...recruit more new players :D .

Fields too far apart - HT set the max distance between fields at 1.5 sectors (about 35 miles). In a few cases, the max distance was used. In many  more, the fields are as close as 5 miles. Load up the old terrains offline and check. You should find that the distance between fields has not changed (perspective :D ).

In summation... the majority of the problems that people are complaining about are not real problems. They are perspective based misconceptions . I am sure that the REAL problems (ie. the terrain tiles) will be addressed shortly.

Once again Wabbit, thanks for your effort. There are as many out here that appreciate it as don't :) .

1st and formost...

A big to the AK's for working so hard on this map.  I'm sure many, many hours were spent working on this monstrosity (I say that in a good way, cuz this thing is friggin huge :D).

Secondly -

When I first logged in on Saturday and saw the map, my first response was, and I quote "WTF is this???!!??"  After fumbling around for 10 minutes looking for a fite, I logged in frustration after 2 flights, absolutely HATING the map, and cursing.

However, being the AH junkie that I am, I logged in later that evening and flew about 7 straight hours (my fanny still hurts), most of the time without DAR (rooks).  I started finding that the map kinda grew on me.  I still think it is a little on the large side, but has some pretty good potential.

I like the fact that there are multiple fronts for every country which changes the strategy for everyone.  Give the map a chance before screaming about quiting cuz "the map sucks"

I happen to agree whole heartedly with him. His "LOTS" is his way of not metioning his squad. You won't be seeing very many MOL on till we get a smaller map. I like the AK's map fine. I love all the new features. I "HATE" the frikking size of it though just like about 99% of my squad. It's to damn big and you can't find a damn fight. Nuff said.

I like Dago will refrain from spending much time in it.

.... the first thing some ppl do is critisizing it to trash. sure .. the map is big, but isn't it that what we wanted to have ? .. a bigger map ? Same happended when HT anounced the Val.

Why the hell cant we bring some positive touchin in all that.

What seriouls starts to turn my balls on that bbs is the constant whining and low level critisism. By caylling the map a "amateur" map its not quiet fair to those who made it, even when i looks like pizza.

I think gameplay on the new map is starting to sort itself out.  Me and a couple other MOL Had a nice little 3v5 fight going on for a while.  Might not qualify as a furball, but sure was fun.  In fact, I enjoy the smaller fights more than the 30v30 furballs.

But that's just me.

Don't go funny on me Rip. Sheesh it's always the guys with the muscles.....

We'll talk about it in four weeks Rip. I'm sure we will get the lowdown on the next step in AH at the CON. I really hope they do something about it as I don't have very much fun in this MA. Fun is what its all about to me. You can look up my score and see the sorties I have flown over the July 4th weekend. I put in the time to make sure it wasn't just a one day thing. I only had fun a few hours outta all the hours I flew. Most of my squad and I included like the quick ezy to access furball. We had it in 1.09 and now we've lost it in 1.10. We want it back. Its the type of flying we all enjoy. This new MA might as well be the friggin CT. We don't fly the CT for a reason....we dont like it.
