I justed signed up today because my 2 weeks were up.  

I played before under Opivy and Conner but now im paying monthly for AH.

I couldnt tell my girlfriend how much i pay for AH because she would shoot me down faster then an ACK.

I was woundering how many others hide how much they pay for AcesHigh?

Actually, I stopped alltogether and went back to WarBirds.  I don't play enough to justify $30 a month, so I went with WarBirds for $10 a month for 10 hours (which I have yet to use all up yet).

I tryed explaining it to her and even letting her fly a few missions ,only to have her crash at the end of the runway. But she still cant understand why i pay.

For me i love AH its the only thing that keeps me sane at work.

On the other hand when we're out drinking, nobody wants to jump in and say "we play computer games together" when someone asks how we know each other.

if she can't get around you spendin $30 a month on something you enjoy, trade her in b4 it's too late...

compare it on something she does for herself, hair-do, nails, gym, clothes.. whatever. explain to her that you could be down at the corner shootin pool, drinkin, gettin lap dances - whatever she doesn't like more than AH... AH is good, clean and cheap entertainment as adult entertainment goes. She doesn't have to enjoy it or understand it, just accept it. Now your $800 computer upgrade every 12 months may take stronger negotiation skills  

but really if your relationship strains on you spending a buck a day on yourself, find another relationship..given the $30 a month isn't coming out of your rent or food budget..

I used to tell her that it was a program that I bought for the PC.  Then she noticed that it appeared every month on the bill.  

I cancelled my subscription to PCZone ($80-90/year) and that has appeased her for the time being.  I have begun to keep track of how much money she spends on shoes.  So far, she is spending twice as much on shoes as I do on AH every month, so I have that as ammo the next time the subject comes up.

Of course... that was before I missed a few wife maintenance sessions because of Aces High.  

Other fellow pilots have pointed out how quickly one can drop $30 in a bar in one night...

After an initial period of jealousy... she has adjusted nicely. Her favorite saying when I start to piss her off is 'GO FLY!'
