Final Tribute To Air Warrior.

Ahhh the penny finally drops!

The AWers are suffering MASSIVE-EGO-LOSS. They've got a new home were most people don't know who the f*** they are, nor do they care. They don't like being at the bottom of the ego foodchain.

I don't know who BB is, nor do I care. I've been online since the CK Beta days and still have no idea who he is. I checked out AW back then and thought it was crap - nothings changed. You are nobodies to me and many other AHers, I wouldn't know you from any other loud-mouthed IRC pond-scum. Don't come thumping in here expecting us to worship you.

And please don't lay claim to HT giving birth to AH as creations solely inspired by AW. I have many a great idea while taking a dump, but I don't necessarily give the turd I dropped the credit for the idea. Much like the relationship between AH and AW.

You AW kids are in a new neighbourhood, unfortunately you online persona's don't transfer between MMPOGs - earn your respect the hard way like the rest of us. See ya in the air.

Amazing...
I made a warning about dirty words behind that link but someone opened that link anyway and went ballistic.
If you see a button on the wall with text "Do NOT push this button, bomb is armed" will you push it anyway ?
If answer is "Yes" I wonder how can you still be alive and if answer is "No" why did you opened that link Baron ?

Hmmm interesting. I've been flying here for over 2 years. I had been flying WarBirds for 4 years before that.

Not once did it matter whether or not I knew who Blue Baron was, nor that I read his text as words of wisdom.

Now, you people come here and suddenly I'm ignorant because YOUR past I don't care about?

Sorry, must of missed the logic in that one.

It's not like he was making fun of someone who died, it was a game and it's days were numbered since AW3.
-SW

No, he was "making fun" of someone who is
very much alive and who was one of the true
forces behind massively mutiplayer flight sims
as we know them today.

Without people like BlueBaron, who helped
bring and KEEP a community together, it's
quite possible that AW would have died on
the vine and HiTech, Pyro and the rest might
never have come together and thus THIS forum
and associated flight sim might not even
exist. You see, you had to really have BEEN
there to fully understand the feelings that
are behind this, my reaction, for one.

I WAS there in the early days, though not
"in the beginning", but the absolute magic
that exuded from those days and those
"creators" remains deeply entrenched in
many of us to this day.

Thus, I take exception tho Staga's "attempt"
at humor here.

I fully understood your "warning" but that
doesn't change the fact that you placed
that link in this thread.

THAT is what I take exception to.

What do you not understand about "appropriateness"?

That's just it- he wasn't making fun of anyone.

You have a choice to read it the straight way, and then a choice to read it the pornilized way.

There was no making fun of, nor was there any intent of him trying to berate Blue Baron.

You simply took it out of context.

Now that this thread has gone down the toejamter, I am going to duck out.

So every new product in every existing market owes it's existence to the original? I don't think so... Just because a product/game/service/whatever breaks new ground means we need to credit it with creating everything that follows??? Do you credit Henry Ford with creating a Hyundai or a Mercedes?

Can none of you grasp that AH is NOT AW???

Who cares if HT was part of AW before? Who cares if AW existed? I don't. Why? Because I have never played AW. I play AH. That is not a flame on guys who do care, I am stating what I feel.

People who come into this BBS (which is setup for discussion of Aces High btw), trying to tell me who I should respect and who I shouldn't, should maybe stop a second and think about how they would respond to the same.

feel free to charm away

Oh, I'm sorry that I have an opinion and have tried to get it across to others. Maybe if you read some of the other threads on this BBS you'd see that I have answered a lot of those as well. I am active on the BBS because I take an interest in this community. Guess that isn't acceptable to you...

Read some of my posts. I have tried to get the new AW influx to chill out a bit and at the same time have tried to offer advice on how to get into the AH groove. I haven't resorted to the personal attacks a lot of people are making, I have NEVER said that the AH group were better or that the AW influx were somehow beneath us.

I just fail to understand how closed-minded some of the people posting here can be. A few have waltzed onto a BBS that is for Aces High and act as if we (the people that were here before you) know nothing because we don't know what you are talking about. We don't know because you are NEW here.

I guess there is no point trying to explain anymore...

Oh, you do...you just don't know it or understand it.

You people seem to think that because Air Warrior was, then all of us should bow down and sing it's praise.

No, that's not the point at all. Once again,
you are showing your lack of understanding here.

Not gonna happen with me.

I was only defending what Staga did, which was simply posting a link. It was your choice to click on it or not.

Defend Staga? Why? Does he need defending?
If so, why you, who admits he could care
less about the "history" or past that IS
the issue here.

It was also your choice to get offended by it or to take it with a grain of salt.

Yes it was, and I DID become offended for
reasons that YOU would never understand
nor do you seem to even care about, so I have
to ask...just WHY are you even IN here in
this thread?

Why not leave it for those that DO care.

Either you got thick skin, or you don't. It wasn't a slam on Blue Baron, nor Air Warrior.

Oh, I have a thick skin. That's not the issue here.

The issue is that Staga's attampt at humor
WAS a slam on BB, and by virue of that, on AW.

But since you know nothing of the "history" here,
I guess I shouldn't expevt you to see or
understand that.

You all chose to take it that way.

So again, I do not care about his past or what he did for Air Warrior. I had absolutely none, zero, zilch interaction with that software or the people behind it. Ergo, I need not read up on it or care about it- it's history.
-SW

With that last statement of you I really
am beginning to pity you for the shallow
human being that you must be...

Go play your "game" and may you never be remembered
in ANY way, some day in the future when you
are no more...

I have been reading the message boards here for just under a year. Just lurking at first. I have slowly gotten more and more involved. I really enjoy AH.

I am amazed though at the arrogance of many of the long time AH players.

My respect continues to go up for Hitech, Pyro and all of HTC. But to be honest, I keep loosing respect for you guys that keep bashing AWers. This, I didnt fly this, or know this guy, so I dont care and there for it has no importance is crap! Perhaps you dont need my respect, but I normaly give it freely.

The Fact is, the majority of this community came from somewhere. Be it AW,WBs or another. To dismiss the history of any peice of the community is foolish. To dismiss the history of HT and Pyro is disrepectful too.

Im not big on bashing anyone. Its not my style. I would hope the longer term AH players could stop bashing others.
