"Dago - you are definitely an anti-(2 country) person. Everytime someone mentions it you start calling them a whiner."
HaHa, you are definitely a whiner and either mistaken or a liar, as I dont recall ever weighing in on this issue and I challenge you to prove me wrong.
"Furthermore since you don't understand math, a 2 sided battle is NOT, I repeat NOT more susceptible to unbalanced fights."
Again, my opinion stands. What would happen if the game changed to two sides, and all rooks and bishops joined up on one side? I guess it wouldnt be unbalanced? Sheesh. The balance sways alot in online multiteam games, depending on day of the week, time of the day etc. You can bet it would unbalanced often. With 3 countries at least we have a choice who to fight, we are not forced to fight the same guys, the same "other country" for the same fields every time we play.
"Whine or not whine that is the question.. fact is there are some clear and OBVIOUS points why 2 countries is better:
1) LESS CONFUSION - you know who your enemy is.. there is a single unified front (possibly jagged )"
I know very well who my enemy is, they are indicated in RED. Check it out sometimes, you will find enemy normally are red, no confusion there.
"2) MORE/LARGER BATTLES - more people to kill along a single front (albeit larger), chance for larger furballs much higher"
So, we should just make this a one big furball game? You ever try DOA? One big furball is boring after awhile. It eliminates strategy, the option of playing the Lone Wolf stalking his prey and some really great one on one fights.
"3) REALISM - obviously, which = fun as well"
Wont argue with you that in real life fights where 2 sided. I dont necessarily agree that it would mean more fun. It hasnt been proven.
"4) GANGBANGING - as per my original post"
It happens, and it doesnt last forever. Learn to live with it, it will go in cycles and is
the nature of the beast in this game.
"5) LOYALTY/REASON TO PLAY - you feel a desire to see your team beat the other guys, rather than uh.. lets beat the knights, no lets beat the rooks .. sigh ;("
I play for a few reasons, and I suspect most do for the same. I like to compete against others in a dynamic situtation, I enjoy the friends I have made and I like airplane games. It has nothing whatsoever, zero, to do with who I am fighting. As a rule I dont even pay any attention to what side I am fighting against in AH, I look where rooks and I jump in.
"Reasons to keep 3 country:
1) SERVER LOAD - bigger furballs = more lag"
See your reason #2 above, you seem to contradict yourself here.
"2) QUAKE'ism - 3 countries adds more confusion but more "frantic" battles"
Sorry you get confused, it isnt a problem for most of us, we know where we are and what we are doing. Any battle is normally frantic. You are working hard to survive and kill the enemy, with outside influences playing a part (terrain avoidance, airframe stresses, other enemy in immediate vicinity).
"It's beating a dead horse.. but it has to be said."
No it doesnt.
Respectfully,
Dago
