Would it be possible to get some thing to make ground war more frequent? if so what?

I know a lot of you guys scoff at the idea of having a tank battle, stay in the sky and disreguard this post.

Id like to see some of the tank sim guys show intrest in this game, it would make game play much more enjoyable to have some ground war. driving a tank is great, so is dive bombing one so thats a win/win situations for me.

One of the most fun times ive ever had in AH is when a few rooks and a few of my squadies took a slew of tanks/m16s to a enemy base and destroyed the town and took it over.. much fun!

Seems to me you have all the elements right there in that paragraph <shrugs>.

Yes i did have the elements there, good one line observation.

And you should also note that im asking to make it possible to have this type of combat at any given time. <shrugs>

Back to the same paragraph.  A few of your squaddies got organized with a few of your countrymen and proceeded to have fun.  So, at "any given time" a few of your squaddies (or your whole squad for that matter)can get organized with a few of your contrymen and proceed to have fun.

Sounds good roto but there never any one else on the ground to fight, very rare at best. Maybe a lone M16 here and there but nothing i would consider a ground war.

More ground vehicle variety would be a start.  More cover for the vehicles to make it a bit more interesting.  That's something you can do gamewise to get it going.

More player interest in ground vehicles.  That's something you just can't program into the game.  Most people play to fly, the gv's are just a diversion from time to time.  Until you get more people playing that are more interested in ground pounding than flying, you're not going to have big ground wars.  Just my opinion though.

Yea very true, a big bummer though. Id like to see some large scale tank wars in aces high. Other games with GVs and AC dont have the great modeling in the air craft area, and the GVs are decent.

but here we got great AC, and good gvs just no inspiration to drive them. I think one of the biggest detourents is the ammount of ammo it takes to blow a hanger up. The citys are not bad though, with a few M8s you can destroy a town.

Aces High, not Aces Low.  GVs are just targets.  Model 'em better yes, give 'em more stuff to shoot at and hide in, yes, expect them to be implemented at the expense of more aircraft being programmed, NO.   ;)

IMO we need more spawn points for GV's. Especially spawns close to things like HQ's, citys, factory's, & depots.

I agree with that, would be difficult to implement im sure.

theres nothing worse than driving somewhere for 30 minutes and having someone fly over and take out your turret gun with there 50 cals.

Let me elaborate then:

I like having gv's in AH, it gives me more things to enjoy fighting against even though I do concentrate on flying fighters.

I think that HTC should fix the armour modeling and weapon modeling of the gvs.  I also think that ground cover and the nature of soft targets for the gv's should be improved.

However, I do not think this should be done at the expense of taking time out of development of new aircraft.

There, is that reply more likely to be read before you ignore it now?  C'mon, I even put a smiley in the original post to show I wasn't scoffing at the thread...

Blue Mako

I was just messin with ya bud, i didnt really portray that to well now that i read it.

Sorry if you thought i was harpin on you, i woulda thought i was to  :o

I would never want this game to have GVs get in the way of makin the AC better, because buy all means thats what this game is about. It sure as hell would be nice to have some more GVs running around though.
