More in praise of Pizzaland™ :)
« on: July 15, 2002, 07:45:43 AM »
I have just finished a Euroland morning AH session. And a most enjoyable session it was too. The highlights were:
  • Saving a medium sized field from capture (killed 2xLVT);
  • Flattening a vehicle field which was captured moments later by another Bish of whose presence I had been unaware;
  • Flattening a town ready for capture (but a B17 got the carrier off which we were operating :(
  • Attempting the capture of another vehicle field.
I know that when there are less than 100 people online, the number of airfields greatly exceeds the number of arena participants! Perhaps later on we will have a smaller map, or one with less fields.

What I have begun to notice in the course of these strat missions is that I’m beginning to have a long list of like minded guys that I can work with. This is a far cry from the situation that existed when I joined AH in November.

Have you noticed the current postings about abusive language and bad behaviour? I have, but not only that, I notice that these vitriolic exchanges always take place between furballers, or in furball situations. The strat guys, on the other hand, are courteous to eachother and also to the enemy. In the fourth of the scenarios listed above, there were only two of us working on the vehicle field, and our timing was off. We didn’t get the goon there in time, and the VH came up. An M16 killed me as I tried to strafe. Did I call him a “fuggin retard” or other mindless term of abuse? I did not. I congratulated the guy for being on the ball to pop up as soon as the hangar came back up. And he saluted me in reply.

The distance between the fields means being able to do strat missions without being jumped by Typhoons or LA7s. So nice to know that while the strat gentlemen are planning the next target, some guys are desperately scouring the arena to find a furball – ROFLMAO! :D:D:D

And I mowed the lawns and changed some blinds... sounds like we both had an equally good time.

Id be pretty upset to hear my neighbor mowing the grass at 500AM Lazs2
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

I have an electric mower.    Plus.... upseting neighbors does not concern me.   You would have to hear my Healey.

Can't stereotype people because of how they like to play.

I see plenty of between the furballers and plenty of respect going both ways.

The people who insult and whine when they get shot down... well I suspect they are probably children or rather imature adults... frankly, if they don't stop, I feel they should be banned.

But then we all have the option of just .squelching the bastards.

Understand guys, the Universe revolves around Lasz, no one else, just Lazs.  See things his way, we'll all get along better. :D

Lazs's Electric Lawnmower <joke>
« Reply #9 on: July 15, 2002, 12:43:30 PM »
One weekend, Lazs was expecting some company to arrive in town - a gorgeous leggy blonde, who would be staying with him all weekend. She duly arrived on Lazs's doorstep, and they went inside. And then she said she was looking forward to the weekend but she'd forgotten to bring a few things with her. Would Lazs mind going down to the local store to get them for her? Lazs, being his usual charitable self, did not mind at all. "What do you need?", asked Lazs. "Some Tampax", answered the blonde. So Lazs went down to the store, and up to the pharmacy counter to get the Tampax. And the conversation went like this:

Salesperson: Good afternoon, Sir, what can I get you?
Lazs: A package of Tampax, please.
Salesperson: Certainly, Sir. There you go. Now can I interest you in one of our new, silent electric lawnmowers?
Lazs: Look, I came in to buy Tampax. What would I want with a lawnmower?
Salesperson: Well, your dirty weekend's messed up, so you might as well mow the lawn!

Lazs went ahead and bought the lawnmower anyway ;)
