Just wait when the Chinese people will all buy cellular phones, cars and big houses. Imagine the amount of energy which will be needed for even building those things, let alone supplying the power for them.
Few choices:

1.All countries ratify some sort of limit for invidual energy use maximum. This would mean heavy cutting from current western life styles. Would you give up your both cars, Big Mac meal and double/triple your costs for everything so that chinese peasant can own as much as you? I dont think so, the plan B:

2.Bomb the Chinese arse so badly, that their focus will be on cleaning their toiletholes from homecaves for next 100 years.

Of course some radical technology breaktrough would ease this situation, like working Fusion Power Plant, however i doubt anything like that will happen in my lifetime.

Doh! And I had just finished reading about that battle in "Turning The Tide of War" by Tim Newark.

My bad! Proper credit should go to the Duke of Wellington, who had proven himself in battle prior to defeating Napoleon at Waterloo.

And then there was the whole Balkan escapade that didn't really work out very well...

All governments have a limited life span. USA happens to be one of the older governments in the world.

The USA is very very young in terms of History. Your natives may lay claim to tribal laws and ancient history, but as a civilised Country you have much to do in order to fill history books with the likes of Europe, the Middle East or Africa. Australia is the same, even younger in many respects. You can hardly lay claim to one of the oldest Governments. Cowboys run ranches. Not Countries (Unless your Ronald Regan.)

I agree that our history is younger than most, but the US Constitution predates the present governments of any on the african continent, Russia, Germany, France, Japan, China, India, Thailand, Canada, Austrailia, any in Central America, Venezuela became independant from Spain sometime around 1810, so probably South America as well....yadda yadda...

So far the list of older governments starts with the writing of the Magna Carta in 1215, and ummm.... i'm sure there are a few more.... maybe Monaco...Sweden? When did Sweden become a constitutional monarcy?
