Does anyone have any information on the progress of this restoration? I lost the phone number to the place and am headed that way to visit some family members the last week of July. So if any of you guys have any information could you post it here.

No mention of the FW190. I know it was there a couple of years ago.  May have been finished and shipped out to the owner(s).

Thanks gofaster.

Crazy that there is not a word about it up there. I am going to call them and see if it has been flown out like they were planning to. The guy that owns it (according to the tour I took last spring) is a doctor there in the Orlando, FL area and he was going to let the pilot who flew it last to be the first to fly the restored bird.

I will post more as I find out the information.

hey, this place is in Kissimee, it's not the same as Fantasy of Flight, is it? I live quite close to the area(DB) but I never went to Fantasy of Flight cause I heard it wasn't anything special, mostly kiddy stuff.
This place though, I would really like to see.

Yep Udet it is right down the runway from Stallion 51 which is a company there that will allow you to take rides in the P-51's they have. The restoration museum is a really cool place to visit. I hope I get to take my vacation like I was wanting to in a couple of weeks but emergency issues have popped up today that may push me back a couple of weeks.

Here she is (the plane not the chick) about 7 month ago.

When u go to 51 Stalion, kiss Brad for me :P Ask him if he still has the "5 star spitfire" in the hangar. Get in the cockpit and wonder how they could do any deflection shooting.

Reschke & Udet.. the only thing of interest at FOF is that B-26 Martin M. And FOF is near Lakeland..  You should have seen it land across I-4. It almost caused a nice pile up one afternoon..

If you go to Kissimmee I highly suggest you go past the stallion-51 and fly one of those AT-6's

You know that I wanted to fly to FOF, and when i called over the phone they said "no". They are a bunch of morons, so much for promoting aviation as they say:mad:

Yeah I have heard of FOF but never been there. I have been up in an AT-6 though and enjoyed that but I don't have the truckload of spare cash laying around for the ride in the P-51. I know last year when I checked on it the cost was around $2500 for a one hour flight. So I just asked if I could walk around and take some pictures. Unfortunately my camera died after I took some shots of them pulling out a P-51 from a distance before I walked over. But it was still nice to get up close to a plane like the ones they have there.

I've been to the Mighty 8th Museum on my trip to Savannah, Georgia.  Spent half a day and could've spent all day there.  Lots to see, lots to do.  Plenty of film auditoriums (each showing different war-time newsreels), exhibits of memorabilia, great stories.  The mission recreation is very well done.  Large, airconditioned facility.  I bought a couple of great videos in the gift shop.  The Mighty 8th Museum is just off Interstate 95, north of Jacksonville.  As you drive north, its on the right-hand side.  Last time I was there, there was a giant B-36 bomber in the back and an F4 Phantom in the front.

Fantasy of Flight is located off of Interstate 4 between Tampa and Orlando, just east of Lakeland.  As you're heading east, the facility is to the left (north) and is easily visible from the highway.  The "rooms" are well done and entertaining for mainstream folks and it has a wonderful collection of vintage aircraft that changes based on what's out for air shows and filmmaking.  I've been there a couple of times.  The flight simulator boasts motion, but the graphics and sound weren't even up to Air Warrior 3 standards.  This was a couple of years ago so maybe they've upgraded their software.

Warbirds Museum is in Kissimmee (Orlando, more or less) and is a working museum, meaning that its like walking around a mechanics shop.  You walk where the welders are welding and the mechanics are "mechanicing".  Its a great insight into what those guys do to get the warbirds flying again.  No air conditioning except in the front office where the gifts and cashier are located.  The collection changes based on what projects are brought in, what owners have collected their finished airplanes, and what's out at airshows.  Stallion51 is just down the runway.  Allow 2 hours to see it all.  Its small compared to the Mighty 8th Museum.

You should stop by the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum if you're anywhere near Reading, PA. They've got a flying B-25 Mitchell, couple of trainers, and they're restoring a P-61 Black Widow to flying status (have been for at least the past ten years), when they finally get it flying again it'll be the only flight operable P-61 in the world. Talk about cornering the market

Alrighty,I think I'm heading to Kissimmee sometimes soon. Speaking of FLA, a must see is the Pensacola NAS with the National Museum of Naval Aviation. Best of all-it's free. I went there twice but I still haven't gotten a chance to tour the flightline. They also have some F18 sims, but I think they're for ROTC people only.

If ya'll remember, I used to work for the facility that "was" working on the FW190F8.  For mysterious reasons, many of the customers have decided to leave that facility and go elsewhere.  Anyways, currently I am now up working in Asheboro, NC and am in the midst of a F4U-4 restoration.  It is fun, hard work, but very rewarding.  If any of you have the time, swing by the North Carolina Aviation Museum.  It is worth the look, many aircraft there, including a B-25J.  Ohh, and as for the FW-190F8, it has moved to a new location where the owner and his lead restorer, Richard VanMeteren, are working away to produce a flying aircraft, that is 100% authentic down to the paint.  Quite a project to say the least.  If you get teh chance, check out their web site... good bunch to say the least!
