Is AH a game or a sim to you?

I tried to think of Air Warrior as an air combat simulation, but really it was just a game with additional elements of strategy.  Aces High added even more elements and more challenge and more strategy, but its still just a game.  As soon as my Aces High score becomes a requirement for flight certification, then it will become a simulation ;)

It's a game to while away idle hours that could be used in more fruitfull ways. Any other opinion just indicates that the opinion holder is in serious need of a life.

DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

If you want a simulation, fly a TOD.

hehe I m fairly certain that with no real stick time you'd come back in a box.

In the gaming world:

In the context of real world flight you have to ask the question:
'does it simulate anything that could help in real flight/air combat?'

if the answer is yes, then  that would class it as a sim (a very basic one).
if the answer is a strict no, then it is just a game to pass the time.

I dont fly so I cant say if it is or isn't. :)

AH is officially recognized by the Air Force Academy. The "Raptor" squadron consists entirely of Cadets. A group of them functioned as command staff for allies during at least one scenario.

I'm with Sandman on this one.  It is a religion.  When my internet connection goes on the fritz, I'm thinking of suicide bombing my provider for depriving me of 15-20 minutes of holy time!

Further, if I am successful, I get to play AH for eternity against 1,000 virgin pilots!  Vulch fest time! :D

Aces High is a service to humanity.:D

For some it is a game/sim/religion.   For me it is fun because it is a challenge.

It could be nearly a simulation, but 85%  of us are playing it mostly like a game.
