You were correct!

Edit: 1/2 correct, 314 is a clear coated color, but not all BMWs since 1993 have a clear coat(as you stated, and I stand corrected)

Well, I could have kept quiet and not said a word, or, I could have been an bellybutton like you and said "why is that not a big surprize"....but I digress..

Rip.. you were an bellybutton in the initial argument.

You were an bellybutton you the BMW bbs.

You are being an bellybutton here.

Just because you admit that hblair is right doesn't somehow make this whole thing poetically wonderfull.  I watched that thread work Rip... I watched you and your boys go all out on hblair for simply being experienced and being right.

no rip.. you're simply an ass.  Just learn to deal with it.

PS.. vindicated would mean you were right.

PSS... gloating would mean I was right.  I simply listened to what was being said and presented and judged based on that.  A completely objective outsider.  HBlair was right.  The fact that it took this for you to see that proves my point.

Vindicate
To clear from criticisim; To defend against opposition; To justify.

Gloat
to gaze or think with malicious pleasure.

Like I said, Gloating ass.

yeah right rip... its all about me being right.

Its not about paying attention to what was being said in that argument and weighing the presentations.  Its not about watching people with no information other than what they've read posted on a bbs or on the internet arguing as if they were the end-all be-all of information on the subject.  It wasn't about watching those people systematically attack hblair as you spurned them on.  Its not about you coming here and saying "oops.. my bad" afterwards.

Nah.. its all about me being right.

malicious pleasure?  I think you meant pity.

No pleasure was involved.  None right now either.

It wasn't a "I win... HAHAHAHAH!" scenario and it still isn't.  It was about watching a group so intent on being everything BMW that they weren't willing to listen to someone that wasn't.

Its about seeing that as pathetic and having a considerable amount of pity for them... even when they try to save face.

Read this orignal post:
Both were correct. or 1/2 correct.

314 IS clear coated , hblair is incorrect.

Not all BMW's are clear coated, hblair is correct.

I read hblair saying "We repaired a BMW that was red and did not have clearcoat" and then read everyone basically tell him he was wrong.  Hell.. they're still doing it over there.

I don't know Rip... it seems to me that if someone were going to start debating aircraft design software with you... I'd have a tendancy to wiegh what you presented a little more heavily.  If someone were going to start debating high-end rifles/shooting... I'd weigh gman's information a little heavier.

I've played with AutoCad and I have a few high-end rifles.  Experience simply tells me that people with direct experience will always have more knowledge on the subject(s).  Buying the software and the guns did not make me an expert... nor did talking extensively with experts.
