Actually, kamikaze gets some pretty stiff penalties:

(a) cuts your score way, way down, including any perk points you get;
(b) your K/D ratio takes a tremendous hit; and
(c) you eliminate the possibility of vulching defenders upping from the field.

On a lesser scale, you also miss out on strafing the flak and the town after dumping your load on the hangars.

I'm "in the red" in the kill/death ratio because I keep getting hammered by flak or gv's while doing solo ground-pounding work in the P-38 and F4U-1D.

A rook numbers whine post, is it that time again already?

Last time it was a whine about "too many damn Bishops" "the Bishops yadda yadda yadda whaaa whaaa whaaa!" same stuff different day. Rooks did get alot of people to feel sorry for them last time. They got alot of people to switch to rooks, but it wasn't long before they all left rooks again.

A suicide P-38 implies that the P-38 dropped its bombs and continued into the hangar/carrier. How could a P-38 be a "suicide", if it never even got into airfield range?

The first P-38 arrived over the CV at 10k and rolled into a vertical dive. I killed it at or about 5k before he released his bombs. Another P-38 (turned out to be the same guy) arrived about 15 minutes later. Again, I got him in his dive. It was clear that this guy had no expectation of survival, even not bothering to avoid my Wildcat.

5k is plenty of alt to recover in a P-38. He was probably counting on the fact that he could out last your barrage of gunfire with his "two engines means twice the durability" mentality.

Or he could've been a rookie and forgotten that the Wildcat can catch a Lightning in a dive.

Interesting suicide theory, let's get this straight...Instead of pulling up after dropping with 3400 rounds of vultching special, they purposefully nosed into the ground so they could spend 15 more minutes climbing back for another nose dive? And you're complaining about it?

You guys really crack me up.

Those guys augered on purpose so they could get back to their base instead of vultching us!

Because they fly staright to the airfield hoping you will not catch up with them.
