I don't fly the 190, but I see plenty of them over my head and in my rear-view :)  Not sure which version - icons all show the same and the aircraft look the same from the front (or back, as it were).

i like hurricane IIC because, its a newbie magnet.. There they are 2-3 weeks in , in there mustangs, la7s, niks and spit 9s.. they see a hurricane and think i must be able to shoot a pre 1940 aircraft down..They may have had a go in it a few times also, which as them who like it knows takes a little getting use to..
you let them close on you 600m...500m 400m then flip turn roll there they are in your sights booma booma booma..victory roll , whos next..:D

SBD-5 Dauntless. I tried it for fleet defense last night, shooting down three bombers and a fighter, none by proxy. Also accumulated nearly 20 assists. Two-gun dive bombers tend to get the scraps left by the "real" fighters. However, I didn't take so much as a single hit, despite venturing out to join furballs. I did lose one SBD to friendly ack as I chugged after a Ki-67. That Ki-67 pilot DID get a proxy! Lol!

What I found strange was how hard most enemy pilots tried to avoid the Dauntless. Maybe they realized that the SBD can out-turn a hummingbird. Maybe they figured any nut picking fights in a Dauntless might know something they don't. Whatever the reason, few challenged me beyond trying a poor angle snapshot.
Maybe they were more concerned with the fighters. I don't get it, I shower and use deodorant!

Edit: Just checked stats, had 13 assists with SBD, a few less than I thought.

My regards,

Most of these planes are not underdogs.  The best true underdog is the F4F/FM2.

A couple of weeks ago I was over in the CT during the Malta campaign and was flying Axis.  I saw a guy in a Dauntless smack down an MC205 and a pair of 109Fs.  I was intrigued, so I switched sides and dive-bombed an airfield, strafed the flak, and even bagged a couple of vulch kills during the loiter.  I was impressed at the amount of damage the SBD can take from flak guns and at its turn rate (at least, until the elevator gets some holes in it).

One trick I tried: a 109 came screaming down at me, so I nosed over into a dive, popped the dive brakes and flaps, and sat in the tailgun seat.  I sprayed from the rear gun as he came down, then jumped in the pilot's seat and shot from the front as he screamed past.  I got some hits on him but didn't have the punch to take him down.  He circled back around and came in underneath my now-wounded plane, below my rear gun, and finished me off.

F4F-4 is my underdog ride.
F4U-1 is my typical ride.

My favourite mmm

I love the 109f-4, but recently and due to the increased furball activity I have made a change to the mighty Hurricane IIc

This plane should be PERKED!

I love it, its pretty slow but its so twisty turny at low speeds it stays in the air and continues to twist and turn and loop, and it has the  has 4 mk1  hisbasookas,
And the rate of fire of those things shhhesh

You only have to dab the trigger to let off enough to down a plane and loose a quater of you ammo.

This is a gem of a plane and severly underestimated by those who know no better.

Yes, the FM2 is a true underdog, and can be safely ignored.

Hurri IIc is as much of an underdog as the Spitfire V is.  Both excel in the MA furball, both are 1941 planes.

Try a Hurri I or Spit I if you want an underdog RAF plane.  :)

I personally know of 170 pilots who will never ignore a Wildcat again....

It seems that some think the Wildcat is an underdog, however, I'm not one of them. It's the antidote to the SpitV and Zero.

The FM2 has 2296 kills and has been killed 1851 times.

That's a 1.24/1 K/D, putting it near the top of the non-perked fighters.

hmmm, the true "underdog" in the plane set is the 202. I've seen a number of 5-6 kill hops with it. Personally I cant shoot well enough to knockdown more than a couple unless I get a auger somewhere. Of course usually you work the con down to the deck and suck out his E only to have a nikki dweeb show up and grab the kill:). Personally the most fun was the Yak with the 37mm. Talk about 1 shot 1 kill:)...best I ever did was 4 kills on 4 shots...still had 28 in the clip when I got whacked.

I love the FM-2.  I started flying it, and it felt like a natural compliment to my normal ride, the F6-F.  When I feel like something different in the F6-F, I now pick up the FM-2.

I choose it fully fueled, plus rockets usually.  Then I take off, get some alt, and wait for someone to attack a base.  Then I dive after them, and engage.  All they have to do is run, but most will start trying to fight, and I can own that easily with turning.  They try a HO, and I pop them with rockets (well, I try, it's been fun, I think I've hit three or four).  Overall, I find myself landing in the FM-2 a lot more than I die in it.

BAH, a 40eny plane doesn't qualify as an underdog.  The FM2, f4u-1, la5, hurriC are  all excellent aircraft.

My favorite underdog plane is the val.  Theres nothing like latching onto the back of something, and peck away at it with the dual 7.7's untill something important falls off. :D
