Bishops defeat 'reset corner'
« on: August 18, 2002, 04:37:14 PM »
About 5 days ago, I was online as Bishops won the AKDesert pizza map. There was much rejoicing, as a lot of people prefer the 'green' maps.

However the cheers turned to 'tears' as soon as the next map was cycled in... NDISLES... I didnt understand why everyone was so upset.

Apparently the bottom right side of the map is called 'reset corner'. If your country is in the bottom right, you are doomed by default. Well over the last 5 or so days, I have seen Bishops nearly go down daily. Things were so desperate that, reduced to an island homeland yesterday, I took the desperate step of flying a 262 from one of two remaining large fields(30 minute flight... 2 engagements; no rounds fired-- personally terrifying with 16 hours of perks on the line).

Loggin on this morning (im on holidays BTW, so I have time to follow the war), I expected that Bishops would have fallen overnight.

However, Bishops have fought back.... again!

Well done Bishops. You are certainly the strongest team in AH. Regretably, we have to fight wars on two fronts....but we have prevailed!

WTG! I hope we survive this map! Its looking better!

(From what I can see.... Knights are down two a couple of fields in the center.)

Yes Bishops have done this on numerous maps on quite a few occassions, gives you a kind of warm fuzzy feeling when you know you've helped this fight back. Of course now you'll get replies along the lines of 'gangbanging' 'they alsways have the numbers' and whatever whines people can come up with for their poor organisation for not finishing the job :p

Jeebuz Cripes!

We're sounding like Rooks or Knights here!

Let's show a bit of class, please! Win with class, lose with dignity.

Leave the "chest thumping" to the vine-swingers.

You're Bish... be proud but not loud.  ;)
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

I've flown rooks since I started in AH, except for a few "exchange programs" where I flew as knight and bishop to see what life was like on the other side.  Phrases like "Rooknits", "Bishnits" and "Bishrooks" are common in every country.  Each country has its share of the victory cake as well.

Coming back from the brink of collapse, and winning the war are both great accomplishments, and each gives you a great feeling of pride.  If you wish to express your pride in your virtual country, then do so.  It's only when you start bashing the other countries that you become the target for a beating :).

So, to everyone who has been a part of an offensive that turned the tide of war.

Just the thoughts of a "vine-swinger".

Dont worry about the two fronts, I know it gets hard sometimes when you only outnumber the rest of us 2-1 or something like that. But most of the time you have much better odds than that... Hang in there!!

And remember that you can always run to ack if you find yourself in a fight with even numbers.

I look at i this way.. After the lastest Star Wars movie it all makes sense. Bishops have the numbers 24/7 due to the cloning facility ( 2 weekers ). Knights are primarly on Pac time evenings with numbers. Rooks seem to be well, rooks. If we don't take the map during 6-10pm then it defense till the next night. Bishop are Mother Russia constantly throwing new recruits to the slaughter. I mean, they have so many they don't even bother to name em, instead its a serial number  " You shot down 3953258" Its tough going but i love fighting the bish. especially with our Knit anthem booming in the backgroud  "Smack my Bishop"

"Smack my Bishop", lol!

Yeah, Knights just won this year's Darwin award tonight... We were under a massive assault on Mainland, and yet... 50% of them were chasing the Holy Dildo at A25 ... go figure
(No, they were not enjoying a good furball, the were trying to capture A22...)

Anyway, had fun myself, shot a lot of Suicide F4U's, hordes of inbound goons. I also got shot down, that was less fun ;)

The knits were down to 1 airfield and still had over 100 people on-line.  Made for one hell of a warped all to hell furball at A22.

Lemme guess how it ended...

35 Typhoons came in at 15k and suicided on the FHs?

or

19 (x3) Lancasters came in at 47k and dropped the FHs?

or (the even more pathetic one)

19 (x3) B17s came in at 1.5k (because their pilots are too skilless to hit anything from any higher alt than that) and dropped the FHs?

How many times have you seen a furball end because a bunch of skilless bish arrive in 35k lancs and/or 30+ Typhoons suiciding on the FHs? Because I have seen that many times. And you tell me how best to defend against that.
