To avoid me to research it, what did happened to China and India during WW2?

Did China was still under Japaneeze "influence"? Did India saw some action due to the British occupation? I'm just currious.

Japan held parts of China untill the end of WW2 , then they withdrew and then the nationalist chinese and the communist chinese had a civil war that the communists won.

when japan threatened india ,india told england that if england would give india independence after the war india would help england fight japan, if not india would help japan fight england, of course england said ok

the japs in the mid 30's occupied parts of upper china and lower siberia (mongolia) and began to exploit raw materials there. the russians and japanese fought a bitter and protracted war in the area.. at the onset of WWII, the japanese also controlled all of korea, and most of coastal china and all of northern china. Within 6 months of the outbreak of hostilities with the US and Britan (and australia and new zealand) the japanese had overun indochina, northern new guiena, all of malasia and were poised to invade india.

those are the dry facts.. it should however be noted that in the course of these 'occupations' the japanese slaughtered uncounted millions of indegenous people. To this day, they have yet to formally aknowledge any culpability for these crimes against humanity and often formally refer to this period of their history as merely an aborted attempt at 'liberating' it's neighbors. The lil yellow toejams of yesteryear make todays saadam hussein/al-queida bad guys look like freakin side-show bob and fat freddies cat in comparison.

For the record, Canada was there also.  The last operational unit to fight the Japanese in Hong Kong, was the Royal Rifles and the Winnipeg Grenadiers.

"October 27 1,973 troops of The Royal Rifles of Canada and The Winnipeg Grenadiers depart Vancouver aboard the SS Awatea and HMCS Prince Robert for garrison duty in Hong Kong "

"December 25 Canadians launch one last assault before Hong Kong surrenders at 3:15 p.m. Battle for Hong Kong ends with 290 Canadians killed and 493 wounded, 260 survivors die during captivity"

If you are interest in what happened in between, some info can be found here.

I suggest that you might want to look up what happened to the Canadians that surrendered.

I can only imagine what happened to the indegenous peoples.

However, "In 1995 the Japanese Prime Minister of the time, Tomiichi Murayama, offered a "heartfelt apology" for his country's aggression "
