Poop, you posted a link to a chick flipping out her tits.

Tard group your new found email friends, but Geesus, have some respect for your self. Certainly HTC isn't as impressed. They were not, and respectfully said so.

One would expect HTC's reaction, as most would just laugh at your adamant constant interest in keeping this 'fool' post  afloat.

But it’s getting old.

Move on. It's OK.

Any of the middle East discussions about israel/palestinians has a lot to be pointed at.

I could point at literally hundreds of examples of evident hate being posted in this board. Racial comments poked in fun and not-so much fun. Even games consisting on killing citizens with a suicide bomb-man (posted in good fun, of course, but who cares?...wasn't that pic posted in good fun or what?)

Want me to point you at hatred in this boards.?. Read it by yourself. Is not difficult to find.

Now...Sandman was booted too?. Nice....see, even Animal posted once PORN PICS in this same board once, don't you recall it?. The message was deleted and he was warned but not booted.

Now, Sandman has been booted. Animal wasn't. I don't say Animal should've been banned.. He shouldn't. But if he wasn't ,why now is Sandman out of this board?...

maybe because he got also caught in the tide of the Hortlund's banning?

Like it or not, This is NOT a discussion about freedom of speech. this is about an unfair banning, caused by the overreaction of a moderator ;that has turned into a FLAGRANT lack of justice from the side of HTC by not reversing the banning when it's clear that Hortlund was far from deserving the boot (and Sandman too).

This is about a FAR too harsh treatment to an innocent comment . this is about unequal treatment. This is about all that, but not about freedom of speech.

And about the "point me at hatred in this board"...do you REALLY want me to do it?. Because I will if you want.

What a bunch of crap.  Believing that this decision is even up for debate is ludicrous.

A guy smarted off to a moderator and got the boot....get over it.  He would probably have been back in 2 weeks if he would have just let it drop.  Now with his coming back multiple times with different names...who knows what kind of actions HTC will take now.

As far as Sandman goes....he did make some comments in the original thread that can be construed as baiting or trolling or whatever you want to call it.  Prolly not the wisest thing to do considering the way the thread was panning out.  For his efforts, he received a time-out....its not like they sent out a hit squad or anything.

   <----inserted just for DMF  ;)

RAM is still posting here and Sandman can't. You're right, that's not fair .

No doubt Yankee got pissed off over this and I can understand why. She probably had a watermelon load of crap to get through on a Friday afternoon and, instead of finishing up her workload and starting her weekend she's caught up in a debate over rather porn is appropiate on these bbs. I imagine she got pissed off- I know I would and most here probably would.

Not to mention the fact she has to work for Hi Tech. Don't let those puppy dog eyes and that goofy grin fool you- Dale is the Martha Stewart of flight sim operators. Superfly e-mails me often with horror stories about Dale freaking out if they run out of creamer for the coffee or someone hangs a roll of toilet paper the wrong way. Superfly said that once Hi Tech made him stand facing the corner with a dunce cap on, and another time Hi Tech got mad at Yankee and spanked her.

Unfair? Sure, but as the "banning" is actually little more than an inconvience all arguements are on a philosophical basis only. This is between Hortlund, SM, Yankee and Hi Tech and should be handled privately. Likewise if anyone wishes to comment they should email Yankee or Hi Tech expressing their opinion- I did, and that's much more effective than posting a rant on these bbs.

Nah, I think Rrrrrraaaam oughta organize a mob to storm the HTC offices and drag the crew kicking and screaming into the streets for a good old-fashioned lynching. After all, that's what their actions merited. ;)

....or the people who feel the stab of injustice can start and moderate their own BBSs any darn way they like...

you asked saw to point at where was hate spewed. I did it for him and told you where to look at. I also said why do I think that this issue has gone way out of hand, and why is unfair for the banned people.

So in the end I did just what you were asking someone to do. And now you pull out this kind of toejam on me. Amazing.

Kieren, I expected hypocresy from many people. Not from you tho. I guess people never like to realize how wrong they are. But I always thought you were one of those who were fairly objective.

Well, now I know one thing more about this board and about people in general :).

You're right Ram.  I think we can only come to one conclusion.  Hortlund has kidnapped Kieren and hijacked his BBS account, in order to get his daily fix.

I recommend that HTC cancel "Kieren's" account immediately.

No, Ram, the point is escaping you- I am not for one second arguing the fairness of the bannings, or what relative measure should be applied to judging when someone should be banned. I am saying (as are many others) that it doesn't matter why you might get asked to cool it, it only matters that if the HTC crew does say "Cool it!", you do so forthwith, without the probing questions.

Now here we are nearing 100 posts and for some the point remains elusive. It doesn't matter if it was fair. It only matters a warning was given, and some chose to push their luck. Whether or not it was a misunderstanding is moot.

FWIW, I am not defending the HTC stance, nor do I care what rules or in what manner they police their own boards. I do know there is a uniformity to their application of justice that seems pretty consistant to me, and am only sorry it isn't obvious to you. I do however refuse to get into a circular argument about how one action stands relative to another, who should have been banned, who shouldn't etc.

Maybe I made a mistake asking for the posting of hate made by one of the free-speechers. I do know the reference to 9/11 as an example is hilarious. I also know you can post lots of threads where you got your feelings hurt, just as I know I could never show you how you brought much of that on yourself.

Still, that has absolutely nothing to do with the pattern of HTC warning us to desist and banning the first person to smart off or question the decision- or has that escaped you?

...Oh, and for the record, I have hosted and moderated BBSs. You put up with a lot of crap from folks, and it doesn't matter what standards you put up, someone has to always push. For some people it is a game to know just where the boundaries are so they can push just over them, and then argue how they hadn't crossed the line, or how they were treated unfairly, or how you are a despot for stifling free speech, etc. Then you get a bunch of others that argue back and forth whether the action is just, deserved, etc..... exactly what you see here.

Fact is, sooner or later if you moderate you have to moderate, and the second you do you are the bad guy. There's always some genius that knows exactly what should have been done and how it should happen, but by some twist of fate that genius has never hosted or moderated a BBS himself.
