So what's the big deal?

They wanted to get closer to nature didn't they?  Well I guess they got a butt full of it, didn't they!

Wonder what happened to their pepper spray?

This is my first reply....i usually just read the posts on this forum but this one i couldn't resist.

I can't help but think that this wouldn't have happened in the South.  Us carries gunz down hair.  Animal rights activists are supposed to support the fuzzy woodland creatures, but I didn't think that they would go this far just to give them a meal.  I just hope that the bear isn't scarred for life.

This also reminds me of something that happened a few years ago.  A rare waterfoul was injured and some animal rights activists took it upon themselves to help it out.  After the bird was back to health, they gathered the media (I guess to show that they really were doing something good) for the release of the bird.  No sooner had the bird lit in the water than a pike ate it.  Just goes to show you that no one can control nature.

I personally don't care if a Grizzly mauls an animal right's activist.

Maul 'em all!

Animal deserves no rights.

Us animal rights activists prefer to use love to tame the wild beast rather than pepper spray. Unfortunately this bear must have had its mind polluted by sleeping within earshot of campers listening to Rush Limbaugh and went right wing on us. Personally I would be proud to be mauled by a bear if I were attempting to save it but unfortunately my only wounds to date have been from splinters in my hand from carrying a protest sign.

Animal, I thought you were one of us. I gave you a Super Whistle to alert the ducks, an underwater sonic Fish Scarer to save the fish and I even did the secret Elk Rut Dance with you. Now you turn on me and ridicule a brother who was attacked by a right wing brainwashed bear? Go to hell, Animal- you are out of PETA.

I dont know what to say :(
I thought it was pretty obvious I was sad about the attack, and I understand its not the bear's fault, he was probably brain-washed by those turd fondling Republicans :(

But if its the will of the council, then I shall resign, and go live the rest of my life in a log cabin deep inside the woods.

Montana grizzly bear notice:

In light of the rising frequency of human/grizzly bear conflicts, the Montana Department of Fish and Game is advising hikers, hunters, and fishermen to take extra precautions and keep alert for bears while in the field.

We advise that outdoorsmen wear noisy little bells on their clothing so as not to startle bears that aren't expecting them.

We also advise outdoorsmen to carry pepper spray with them in case of an encounter with a bear.

It is also a good idea to watch out for fresh signs of bear activity.

Outdoorsmen should recognize the difference between black bear and grizzly bear toejam.

Black bear toejam is smaller and contains lots of berries and squirrel fur.  Grizzly bear toejam is larger and has little bells in it and smells like pepper.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Toad,

Thanks for the helpful advice.  If doesn't hurt when hiking to have such useful information at one's fingertips.

I do have one question.  If, while hiking, I wish to avoid a violent confrontation with an animal right's activist, how do I identify their toejam?

Seriously, Shuckins
