Well I laid of for a year or so and I'm here and I rot. Tips, tactics, tricks etc is what I need. Training, what ever. I'll goto the darkside damit just bloody get me going!

batdog
So use to dieing I might as well do it in my 38!!!!!
Of course, I only see what he posts here and what he does in the MA.  I know virtually nothing about the man.  I think its important for people to realize that we don't really know squat about each other.... definately not enough to use words like "hate".

Email me at sconrad@hfx.eastlink.ca and I'll hook you up with a trainer for some 1v1.

The 38 is a tricky beast to fly, especially versus the late war opposition in AH.  You might try looking for guys like BUG234 and TAC online, and ask to wing with them.  Oh, and if Cit is flying the 38, he's an expert in it for sure.  Ask around online for these guys and see if you can either observe them for a while or be their wingman.  If you really want to learn, head to the dueling arena and get 'em to smack you around in a 38, that way you'll really learn fast.

Bug322 is way better than I am. He justs shoots like crap (and even then he beats me with a good margin   ). Citabria is #1, imo bug322 is next, followed by Animal, Bessy, Ts, Zigrat (crap, that geek is good in everything), Viking and silat.I would have added Nath, he was a good E-handling teacher, but alas, he aint here no more   Anyone I missed add your name here.

I agree Citabria. AH needs a p38 trainer. Since you had the idea, you get to be it. Where and when can I sign for a class?

Ask Central or Rob53 they fly the lightning regulary too.

But my best advise is fly the nik or spit u will be happy.
And stay happy coz the 38 is one off the most frustrating planes to fly.

Everyone will drool on u coz u a big easy target.

Niks will dive on u from 20K to u while u on the deck.
They forget all other (more lethal ) targets
just to get u

P38 is like a TBM or A Ju 88 they all drool on it.

I fly it now from day one and i became the most frustrated pilot in the whole ma.

I tell u it's not worth it

Ok, I've made up my mind.  Next tour I set my Jug aside and fly the P-38.

Heh, we'll see if I agree with you or not by the end of it Bug.

Double Post.  I'll split it in half...

And yes Cit, we can always use more trainers.  Anybody that wants to help out another is welcome to do so in the Training Arena.  It is designed for this.  Helping folks out is not only very rewarding, but you tend to learn alot yourself doing it.  If any of you are interested in becoming official trainers, the way to become one is to spend some time in the TA helping out whenever you can.  Help out and see if you like it.  If you put the time in training be sure to let me know about it.  That's what gets you considered for the training gig.

BUG... I'm ALREADY frustrated, I kind of dislike this plane set with the C-Hog as being such a force. The idea of dieing alot to a plane that was extreamly rare in WW2 seems... wrong. BUT I know if I get good  enough I'll be able to eat many a hog driver for dinner, the same as I eventualy could in AW3 with Spit9's and Ki's....

You see I've flown every plane here... and I've not found ONE I love. Nothing here fits me... only my 38. SO I fiqure if I'm gonna rot I might as well work on mastering my favorite ride... the 38. The thought of a big ol twin engine bat out of hell coming to take you into the darkness gives me a damn woody man. I certainly dislike some of the modeling... flowler flaps, easy to kill (it was an all metal airframe and supposdly a tough one..?), bla bla bla but I see guys like yourself,TAC,ANimal Cit etc kicking bellybutton so why cant I? Besides... if you master a tough plane it kind of makes you different right? Ask my squadies... the BAT likes to be unique or at least rare...LOL.

Anyway I hope I get to see all you 38 drivers out there and so far you've all been great... TAC, Animal, Lep, and Citabria (I need to hook up with you!). Animal helped me alot last night, and tonight I might pesture Cit and TAC...LOL.

 Anyway, fly till you die

Ask Animal who his daddy is in p38.  Since he'll probably lie, I'll go ahead and tell you it's me.

Lucky or not, undefeated at 1 and 0!

Although only living in H2H land at the moment I am also a frustrated 38 driver. Like you Batdog I don't feel comfortable in anything else. I would also be looking for some specific 38 training from someone.

If I set up a H2H arena this weekend (28th - 29th)for 38 training would anyone be interested and would anyone fancy stepping up as trainers??

BTW - has there been any response from HTC about the differences in between the RL flight performance and the AH flight model that were highlighted by Badboy in a thread a couple of months ago ??

Go to hell Fatty.
Gosh, how much I hate you.
If there is anyone in Aces High I hate the most, it sure is Fatty. That jerk. I hope he falls down some stairs and breaks his jaw and legs.
I hate you Fatty. With all my heart.

Anyways BatDog, I tried to email you but seems like my email server is FUBAR. Mail is not getting thru. I think I'm gonna post the email I was about to send for all to read anywyas.

For further help on the P-38, go to the aircraft forum and do a search on P-38. There are lots of things like charts and tips.

Bug322, what the hell are you talking about? pure roadkill IMO. I can beat anyone flying anything against my P-38. I can beat LA7, I can EASILY beat F4U(d and c), Ponies, etc. I have most of my trouble with Nikis if they are 2 vs me, and zeros give me trouble even 1 on 1 if piloted by a good guy. Spits? I used to have most trouble with Spits until I decided to fly one exculsively for one tour, now that I am back to the P-38, I EAT SPITS FOR LUNCH.

I am perfectly happy with my P-38. I have no complains AT ALL with the flight model. When I fly my P-38, I fly with full confidence in my skill, knowing that when I lose, its because of my own mistakes, not because of the plane the other person is flying; I am above that. I had a good P-38 vs P-38 fight with you last day wich you won (things would have been different had I not been lower   ) and watching you fly, I cant see why you have so much trouble and grieve so much.

Take care, good luck, and keep flying the 38.

-Animal

P.s. I hate Fatty. Very, very much. He is a lying jerk and I hope he dies a painful and slow death involving a fat woman and vietnameese punjii sticks trap.

Start with alt, use vertical manuevers, try not to get low and slow and if you do, use flaps, and run like hell when in trouble. Don't forget your speed brakes in a dive and to use your throttle's, both of them if you have one of these:
