Mic stopped working
« on: August 30, 2002, 02:41:02 PM »
Weird. But it used to work just fine. Now I get my voice through my speakers, (always did) but nothing in the game, or even in the voice recorder software WIN98.

This used to happen when my son was working on his music and ran a music program (data becker I think). I would have to open up Roger Wilco and run through the set up, then it worked again. Can anyone explain this phenomenon?

Yes I know about muting the mic in control panel and stuff like that. I also made sure the boost was checked.

If its not working in Windows recorder it isn't working at all.

Check all through your settings again both in system manager and in the loudspeaker settings in the sys tray, and if it still doesn't work but you can hear ok, if you have a software or hardware firewall check that your are allowing AH via UDP as well as TCP. If no firewall re-install sound drivers.

I would recommend you re-install dirX as well if you are sure your sound drivers are functioning ok.  Use the windows run box and type "dxdiag" and return (without the quotes) which will test vid and sound in directX.
