On further thought with all these chute threads, I've been killed in a chute maybe once in 3 months of flying and that was on a zoom bail..

You guys talk a bloodthirsty game but I'm not seeing it.

So on the stats page kills in a "chute" are proximity kills while hanging about ??

Been pondering that one....

I bail so I can play FAC over the battlefield without having to worry about aircraft management.  My secondary reason is to see if any enemy pilots are dumb enough to waste their ammo on me.  When I bailed, the kill was already awarded.  Drilling up my chute with ammo won't bag them any more points.

I'll 'waste' my mg's on a spy any day !

I don't remember who it was that said that shooting chutes with mg's is a great way to increase AC performance by lightening the load and practicing aiming.. but they were soooo right !

Heh.  Ahhh, yet another post decrying how "dumb" it is to shoot chutes.  Let's make a few things clear.

(1)  It's not dumb.
    (a)  It eliminates potential spies
    (b)  It makes many bailing lamers go ballistic on Ch1
    (c)  It improves aim

(2)  It is not a waste of ammo
    (a)  It takes one round to kill a chute
    (b)  Makes less lethal ammo (.303, 7.7mm) useful

(3)  Who cares about points?

(4)  It's fun!

(4) It's fun!

DMF, maybe you'd like an arena with hundreds of chutes floating around for you to kill..and since its so much fun to kill unarmed, non-threatening players..how about a bunch of troops in wheelchairs on the ground or maybe an old folks home for you to strafe?

its not the act of shooting a player's chute, its the mentality it represents.

Whoa! Do you think there's a chance?  I might have cancelled my account too soon. Imagine shooting the crap out of targets like that while singing a few verses of "Napalm Sticks to Kids"!!!

Man, that would be a blast!

If you could make it little girls in wheelchairs, I'd start level bombing again.

Considering we already have a church we can strafe, I think adding a school, preferably a pre-school and a children's hospital to the town would be a great idea!  Imagine coming down and shooting a plane up, making the guy bail out and shooting his chute and round off the flight with a nice strafe of the pre-school and children's hospital.  The ulimate hat trick.

ack-ack

Holy Hell YES I'd love an arena like that.

Much more worrisome is the mentality that actually finds such behavior in a game objectionable.
