Thanks for the refreshing opinion, wulfie. I'd lost all hope of seeing anything to counter the 'appropriate emotional response syndrome', so often associated with global events, covered in the global media.
Although sectarian violence in Great Britain and Northern Ireland has claimed over 3000 lives in the last 30 years, Sept. 11th was the worst terrorist attack committed against UK citizens - something like a 100 were killed. It was a truly shocking event witnessed from over here.
Apart from London, there were IRA bombs in Manchester that devasted the city. Perhaps the only good thing to come out of it was the necessary rebuilding that has really rejuvenated the area.
