there were no explosives found in the car..the package that they found and destroyed was medical equipment. I think its just dramatic hype FOX news style. Gotta keep the herd riled up.

Weird story. 2 cars, originally called "possible middle eastern men", now MSNBC says they have Spanish surnames and are from Chicago. OTOH they blew through a toll booth and were very uncooperative with police.

I'm wondering why these idiots would say such incriminating things in a public restaurant.

Not trying to hijack here, but the TV news had aerial pics that were a little grainy. The announcer explained that there was a no-fly-zone over the scene. Those pictures were coming from a helicopter 40 miles away!

40 miles! Now I have a decent refracting scope, and I can get pretty tight on an object 40 miles out (if the smog cooperates), but there was no atmospheric distortion in the TV pics. How do they do this?

There was a man in Columbus, OH 09/11 that was in the state office tower(41 floors, 4K people) to install window blinds for an outside company. Being unknown to staff in the building, I guess quite a few different people asked who he was. He allegedly told one of the staff that he was there to "hide the bomb".

One staff member contacted authorites while another confronted him. The man appologised and admitted that was he said wasn't appropriate or funny. Authorities arrived and questioned him, and a bomb sniffing dog arrived and alerted to a "hit" on his truck. (The "hit" turned out later to be a propellant for a nail gun). The entire building was evacuated.

The man is being held and charged with inducing panic. It was also learned that he is an illegal immigrant that overstayed his visa about 3 years ago. INS is considering shipping him and his 3 kids back to Mexico.
