Voss... give it up.  People have been very forgiving here and have allowed you to peacefully co-exist.  Its been going well.  What may never be welcome in an on-line combat game is a situation where you pull out a soap box and start lecturing with a hollier than thou tone.  Too many people remember the TAS situation and your role in it.  And give up the legal stance... you have no idea just how rediculous it makes you look.  Intellectual property for a game that never had a single line of code written?  Come on voss.

Everyone else... are you really going to say anything to voss that hasn't been said over the last 6 years?  Feel free to knock the soap box out from under him.  Feel free to warn others if he holds out his hands asking for money again.  Its your right.  But please, just give up trying to save him.  He's not going to "come clean".

I thought Voss was a real life pilot? I thought that Voss did 3d animation/modeling as well.

Hm, I think I am having a flashback here. Too bad I don't have access to my old mail and I am not even sure I still have this old stuff anywhere but I remember playing AW (handle was prolly G00SE something, and I think I was in a squad called Shillelagh) and there was this guy who set out to create an uber AW of sorts, the first one with 3d accell support and there was quite some hype going on and I was in the (beta or whatever it was) mailing list (which never was very active) until at some point someone posted that they ... well something along the lines of it was a hoax, vaporware...

But that was many years ago...the name "TAS", it rings a bell just like "Paul Hinds", I definetly gotta dig in my files and see if I have anything from those days left.

Is this that old story? And it's still going?

If anyone has those original TAS screenshots - I'd like to see them. Fellow Flying Pig Smut (producer of Jane's F-15 and F/A-18 sim btw) told us the key telltale signs to seeing that it was a render.

I still have the pic of Voss sitting in his P-51 cockpit with his name stenciled crudely in photoshop on the canopy. He sent it to Vila at the time, another squadmate - and BTW never said it was an RC plane - it was his REAL plane.

Voss - let's face it. You never even owned a RC P-51. You can't produce any valid pictures to the contrary, other than some scanned photo from a RC magazine.

The TAS thing is slightly amusing - in a Derek Smart way. Over the years I've chalked it up to a sad little man's delusion.

But pretending to be a vet - a vet with alot of combat experience - well after the events of the last year or so - that still rubs me the wrong way.
