Yep , the National Guard A-10 have been flying alot more here in Mid Michigan lately .

I got to see two of them about 2 weeks ago practiceing some air to air on themselves . Was pretty cool .

They fly North to South low level most times , I think they track down the highway that's close by my house .

Yeah, I bet the Iraqis have been rather annoyed for the past decade with all of the US warplanes in their country mapping out their daily air defenses and waring capabities. Yet still it must be done, probably was dangerous and fun for the pilots but thankfully none were shot down yet.

And they probably still dont get it, just the joyriding thrill seaker types in the F-18s that get it.

I met a former member of the Tuskegee Airmen, living in my town, who was a "Grim Reaper". Wasn't the 493rd an all Black squadron during the War? BTW he was a gunner ace with 5 confirmed kills in a B-25. He was also the AAC middleweight champion for 2 years, and was a member of our local school board.

Ever since they moved Topgun from Miramar and then the USN F-14s were traded for USMC FA-18s, I don't look to the skies that much anymore.

332nd Fighter Group, comprised of the 99th Fighter Squad, 100th 301st and 302nd.

That's who the Tuskegee Airmen were in WWII.

SW, there was a Fighter-bomber squad also. I believe they flew mostly A-20's and B-25's. I'll research it some.
