Who gave these people those powers?
« on: September 28, 2002, 12:54:30 PM »
I'm mildly annoyed about this.

I was helping my cousin with AH in the TA - looking over his shoulder as he flew around, getting used to it etc.

Throughout the session Skuzzy was present, quite rightly enforcing the rules, which I have no problem with. My cousin asks (politely) one particular individual, going by the handle 'Hernia' for a fight. He gets no answer so repeats the question and suddenly a grey box pops up saying 'you are muted for 50 minutes'.

What's with that? It's against the rules to ask for a fight now?

I reckon it had to be either Hernia or Skuzzy that initiated this. I doubt it was the latter, so it leaves me to believe it was the former.

I'd like to know why these priviledges are being given to individuals unable to handle the responsibility.

Well, it was not me that did that.  Hernia does not have those powers either.

It would have had to been someone else in the arena.

Dowding, what is your cousins handle and when did this happen?

Please respond by email.  Thank you.

Downding, my guess would be somthing he typed hit the profanity filter, some words can end in 2 letters and the next word starts with letters. This triggers the filter.

Rgr that, guys. But I always thought the mute only lasted 10 minutes for profanity? I don't use bad language, you see, so I wouldn't know. ;)

I guess it's possible he mistakingly triggered it

I got muted in the DA for 60 minutes.. . for spelling out the "F" word.  :D   Of course this only lasted 5 minutes once I figured out I could log out of AH and right back in - negating the mute.

Incedently, Ive seen a HUGE increase in mutes and "The voice in the sky" asking not to add to certain conversations... oh well, at least they let anything fly on the squad channel...

I got muted for 50 minutes for screwing up the word "shift".

And that timer is killed off if you leave the server and then come back in.
