a true historical squad
« on: October 01, 2002, 06:03:45 PM »
Few squads in Aces High are true to their name. I was computing the stats of September for our pilots, and thought I would share them with you guys. I'm proud to be part of this squad where all pilots always stayed dedicated to their squad name and aircraft for more than a year.

56th.

Other squads true to your name, stand out from the crowd, bring on your complete squad pilot stats!:D

Ok, how about the Original Flying Tigers squadron, shows a total of 1,917 fighter/attack sorties flown with 1,719 kills scored and the squadron stats in the P40B/E are 0 kills and 2 deaths. :p

It's not really a question of K/D, it's more a matter of ALL the squad pilots flying their advertized plane more than 80% of the time.

I always feel sad to see (example) the JG xx flying Spits and LA7s mostly. I checked our Brazilian friends stats in the P47, only 3-5 of them have some stats in the P47, the rest is goofing around in other planes.

The K/D ratio is of no importance there. LW squads flying the D9, or P51 squads will always have better K/D ratio than a Zero squad or TA152 squad. Being able to escape, helps surviving in the MA environment.

Livestock Liberation Front. We've always stayed true to our one cause, to liberate and treat hurt sheep from the Bishops and Rooks. This is our one cause, and if I die, knowing that I have saved one, just ONE hurt and lonely bish sheep, I will die a happy man.

When my squadron The Cactus Air Force was formed back in 1994, No body flew one particular type of plane.    The Real Cactus Air Force,  didnt either.   They were a mismatch group forced together at Hendersond field.    This was why the name CAF was choosen.

So, In that tradition of flying the varied aircraft availble.  We do pretty well.  ;)

Interesting thread :)

When I first came to AH I joined the first squad that replied to me. I did this because flying alone is no fun. The Arctic Storm is a historical squad and I believe they flew p40's and p38's, i'll have to check. I never thought of it really till this post. I think it's a good idea. I'll look up the planes. I'll fly em :)

flew jg54 and flew LW only for over a year. Was good but it drives you nuts.I started to hate flying when i only flew LW.I think if it was TOD then sticking to historical planes is fine, but to fly one type for all time will just make you mad I garentee it.

80% is good though wtg frenchy

Though new to this sim,,You can expect to see 367th FG in P-47s and P-38s on jabo attacks,,as did the WW2 squad

We have had contact with one of the real pilots of "Dynamite Gang",,,,he made it a point to remind us what we should be flying :)

When doin Sweeps or Escort duty we grab anything, but try to stick with USAF/USN/RAF planes

Peace

That LA7 squad should step up.

I personally switch planes *every time* I hit the fly button. You won't recognise me when I'll come back for revenge :D

Our squad is based on an RCAF one who traditionally flew P51's, Spitfires and Hurricanes. We do fly a lot of those, but our belief is that we pay for all the planes, so might as well use them.
