FPS seem decent with improved visual quality (well, the Radeon 9700 Pro does help I guess

That must be the world record. I have never seen anyone comment radeon 9700 get 'decent' fps from any game. It's absolutely smoking fast on all games except, it seems, WW2OL.

I think I must contact ATI about this so they can change thier marketing hype.. Radeon9700 the worlds fastest display card on the market. Lightning fast performance on all games (and decent fps even with WW2OL!!!!!!!)

Error was made in the beta, and the errors are being corrected.
Most ppl took it in stride. You guys woulda gone ballistic:D We just emailed files, phoned ppl at 3 am to talk em thru the fix. Some poor guy called Dell and Dell said to do a reformat, reinstall. All it needed was Restore from the xp boot cd.

smokes in other games..I suspect there is more going on in the cpu in ww2ol than other games. Beta T&L isnt full implemented in the beta. Did you notice his settings..4xfsaa etc ..I flew with 50fps on my geforce 4..but with 2xfsaa. Bottom line, if it were like other games it wouldn't have the teething probs.

Don't worry guys, I will continue to play, yall continue to rag :)

Time will tell. It will die or overshawdow  other sims.

Yes, I woulda.

You make it sound like it was a good time, chattin' with yer buds at 3 am, doing e-mail, doing tech support. I can't disagree, though. Whatever your idea of a good time is, have at it.

It is beta. Not just a load test.  Stuff happens and we lived thru it. The beta moves on, the world didnt end. No mass exodus.
If ww2ol survives, will it draw the flight sim crowd form ah and wb?

I can't really see how it would. It doesn't offer the same things AH does. Where are the varieties of planes? Don't say, "they're coming", because the development pace is so slow it would take years for WWIIOL to overtake AH in that department. AH offers action and autonomy that WWIIOL doesn't, nor ever will. They are two different products, and that's that. Anyway, don't pretend you wouldn't be sticking it to HTC and company on this BBS if they had a similar gaff. You know you would.

And who said there would be a mass exodus? This is how you do it, HC, you say the words then accuse us of saying them. I think the sentiment here has been "typical CRS programming...". You've filled in the blanks yourself.

Actually I wouldn't. I have no reason to rejoice if Dale and Doug and crew have a problem.  AH continueing to be a success is good for all simming.

To have AH's or WB's plane set will in deed take time. The 1941 vehicle set is being worked on now.

No, no. I wasnt accusing you guys of saying that, it was just FYI

Those half-screen flashy image tags people use on many ubb's look really lame. Especially irritating are some hardware boards where everyone seems to need to tell exactly which kind of setup they have during every post - and even worse, with some stupid 11-year old level cartoon graphics.

Hardcase, if you want to record us a movie, you can do this:

Given the history of ww2ol and the performance issues. We usually ask someone to post his systems specs with his problem It saves us time and posting. Saying, I get lousy FPS ..help me, is of no value without his specs and settings. Over time we have found the standard startup bugs that ppl can have...ie the CINE folder...why Strat First published their Gamer Choice version WITH the cine folder still in, is beyond me.
