new planes please
« on: October 06, 2002, 10:03:52 PM »
I am used to play aces high a lot and then well flying the spits are fun and all the other planes some i am new to but now are very familiar to.  I was wondering if you ever heard of the sea fury or "the duck" or something of the sort (i forgot its formal name) which was a vehicle used largely in the invasion of Normandy which had the ability to go on and off land.
The Sea fury was the fastest prop plane in the war.  Plus there are a wide range of planes i am familiar with and would love to fly.  There is the Firefly which was a british plane used as a fighter/dive bomber on the land and sea.
American plane i have yet to see is the p-36/hawk 75.
German  Me 210/410 Hprnisse, Fw 200 condor.
Jap Plane Ki-45 Toryu"Nick", B5n"kate"

If you want info on these planes e-mail me at knight19@midsouth.rr.com

I hope i am not the only one who might be tiring of the same planes but if i am so be it but i still think that these planes would be a group of aricraft thatwould make their mark. I even have histories on them if anyone is interested.

The Sea Fury saw no combat in WW2 (I'm not even sure it had even entered service). I'm pretty sure it saw its first combat in the Korean conflict.

We already have amphibious tanks and landing craft.

First conflict it was in action in was Korea I believe. Nor was it the fastest prop plane of the war. Had about the same speed as a Tempest I believe. Quite a few were faster then that. It's a cool plane though :)

in 1948 an Iraqie Fury attacked an Israely beufighter flow by ex-RAF voluntiers. The Beufighter dived vertically to the ground, pulling out at tree-tops - the dweebish fury augered...

I hope they got a manoever kill for that stunt.

I love the Sea Fury, it just has no place in AH unfortunately.

BTW, I think it was faster than Tempest. It shared some design features (it was made by Hawker afterall), but I'm sure it was faster.

Pretty sure its top speed was around 460, atleast that's what my books say. Don't have a specialized Tempest/sea Fury book though so could be wrong.

Thanks bozon :)

Gloster Gladiator, Sea Gladiator, Cr.42, Cr.32, I-153, Fairey Swordfish, Hs-123, "Bulldog", ju87stuka, And *Most* of the planes on mitsu's list would be nice :)

As for the Fury... Well, if it didnt see action during WW2 I don't think it should be added, and I doubt htc will add something that didn't see service in ww2...
