well.. I have to do it

at work we have a 'fence' pool.. ante up to the kitty for a guess as to when the first person to slide out and hit the fence on our 25mph corner...

figured I'd start a WB pool... guesses as to when the demise of WB is 'official' ?

I feel sorry for them losing their jobs but seeing Wild Bill keep sucking more money from people gets old.

Besides, there are some talented people on the development team but they don't even get to work on WB anymore.

IMO they'll find homes elseswhere.. hopefully where they are appreciated! (and listened to)

as for the players.. they're welcome here

i hope they opensource WB 2.77 or it happens after they tank.  WB 3 is a 200 mb turd, but 2, w/ some more development, could be a damned fine game

Did a brief scan of agw and didn't see anything that says what this is about.

Who's out?  What's the story?

"I feel sorry for them losing their jobs..."

You *feel* sorry or you *would feel sorry about*?

Did anyone lose their jobs over there?

They've been (statistically) on the edge of collapse for a couple of years.  I think as long as there is enough money to pay their rent and keep the servers up, iEN will keep plugging away.

maybe this little press release
http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/021009/92250_1.html

ooh business wire press releases announcing sponsorship.

Well, in all fairness, the stock was under a penny at one point.

I'm surprised they're persisting.
Hey didn't Warbirds: Fighter Academy get released yet?
Maybe they have thousands of new players we don't know about.

I'll not celebrate their demise.. nor forcast it.

When it does happen, it will be painfully clear as to why... but I don't think I'll take any satisfaction in saying "I told you so" to that one.

Too many fond memories from way back for that.

Did you guys read the last two paragraphs?

"Mr. Stealy also announced a "fly for canned foods" program in an effort to attract new subscribers. The price in canned food for a monthly subscription of War Birds was set at twelve cans of corn or six cans of chili.

"In related news iNET, the corporate parent of War Birds, announced a stock dividend of two cans of corn and one can of chili per share."

Airhead I heard that if they don't get 5,000 new subscribers this month they will start charging one cigarette per hour.

I won't celebrate their demise.. but it certainly seems inevitible. (sp)

I was hoping they'd stay afloat and provide the competition that helps drive all sims' development.. but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

As for forcasting it I see nothing wrong with it.
