IMO,

A gamer tries to advance in rank by gaming the scoring.

A simmer is into role playing.

A recreational Virtual Pilot plays to have fun and only to have fun, that's what I am.

Exactly. Can never figure out those guys that extoll the virtues of "flying smart" in the MA. I just see the MA as a place to get in as much practice as possible before you gotta log.

I can hardly wait until HTC releases the Mission Arena. That's a scenario environment where you're supposed to fly smart. It'll be real interesting to see how the more timid sticks from the MA actually stack up. Everyone is going to be winging, putting as much alt as possible under their wings, with their SA cranked up...all serving to take away those easy cherry shots....guys will be forced to find other ways to win...it's gonna be intriguing how things shake out.

Simmer … definitively simmer.

I’m flying in the MA for one reason only: To learn the finer points of ACM in this game/sim (a line from The Battle of Britain comes to mind: “You can teach monkeys to fly better than that!”. A perfect WWII sim would for me be as close to 100% realism as possible. With 1:1 scale world and no navigational or targeting aids. Making perhaps two or three sorties a day with maybe a kill or two if I'm lucky.

I’m really looking forward to the Mission Arena and the upcoming CAP events.
