Some guys find very atractive wining the war. Others just are happy when they capture a field or they dont let the enemy capture a friendly base. Others just want to spend a while in front of their screen wasting adrenaline. Others are happy when they get a kill and angry when they are shot down. So scores describe only a low % on the guys in the arena,but.....

Ok ..if we only take thist last sort of guys, also you can imagine that several of this guys have a high rank just because they dont want to die, whatever the price...it is their fun of the game, and maybe they are even not thinking in scores when they fly. Ahhhh "This guy only vulchs and fites when he has advtage blah blah blah....he IS a score adiccted!!!!.....maybe not. Maybe he just dont want to die......is his target not to die...just for fun ..not for score. So, lets give a chance to the guys who vulch, gangbang, run home, etc...and lets forget about the score system.

I love to kill as many enemies as I find. I dont want to die never. I dont care about rankings. Just for personal gauge. Am I a simmer? Dunno

Simmer or so...

Is the MA a simulation or a game?
Not so easy to respond!

From a strategic point of view the MA is a simulation for sure.
You will see that numbers/resources are one of the predominant factors - like in RL.
Better organisation can beat numbers - like in RL.
The VHC (Virtual High Command also know as "collective unconsciousness" :D) is stubborn and stupid from time to time attacking useless bases with inappropriate resources (Mindanao - A44 :)) - like in RL.
The VHC tends to repeat mistakes - like in RL.
The VHC likes stupid bravery - like in RL.
Countries almost to the ground come back and fight until victory - like in RL.

A scenario is a simulation with focus on the tactical aspects. Yet it lacks the strategic level. In Midway soon coming the IJN never will sneak in to the west coast (all apart from if this would be *reasonable*)

The radar setup in MA is just a little help to improve the tactical side in the game. It's a compensation of the many many hours of preparation preceeding an operation in RL.

bah

when you turd squirters finally realize that the MA is the GAME and scenarios are the SIM then this discussion will have some meaning.

until then I'll pay and not fly and laugh at you (and rust, silently)

For our purposes a simulation is a category of video game . So that makes all of us gamers .
