Nice work on the P51.

May we please someday see a remodel of  the Corsairs and their OCTAGONAL fuselage?

Thanks!

:D

If you think the F4U is the only one with a six-sided fuselage you're not paying attention.

Peel the pretty skins off these beasts, set the lighting right, and you just might be shocked at how blocky they are.  Nate and Super have done a very good job camoflaging the low poly count in the models.

From what Super said I don't think they're increasing the poly count, so the model is the same.  They're just making the skins better.

Making the cylinders 8 (or 12, or 24) sided would require more power to render them, which would drop frame rate, which would inspire a wailing and gnashing of teeth and threats to drop acounts of biblical proportions.  :D

SUPAaaaaaaaFLYYYYyyyy

(Makes me think of the Joe-Cartoon "Fly episodes")

Thats a very nice looking skin, the perception is your skills are always improving, as each consecutive skin seems to get better and better.

SUPA needs a raise!! and a pat on the back! and a thank you! and a....

Also noticed the lighting effects on the MG's in the first shot....vera perdie :D

From both the film that was posted a little while ago, and the new screenshots of the pony, it appears that the muzzle flash effects are now rendered as separate light sources.  Is this true?

With UTMOST respect to Superfly and his obviously "above avg" talent (I would say Excellent, but I've not seen them do the P61, which IMO takes a skilled artist ;) )  I personally cannot detect any difference between the two pics of the P51 on HTC's website under Aircraft, and the new pic, other than the little jagged edges (we'd call those "descretization/sag and step") and the muzzle flash.  Any other significant differences that I'm missing here?

I think the lighting effect is the new thing.  Although I never thought I cared about eye candy, I think there is a lot of "immersion" potential in this new lighting effect.  I REALLY like the external sounds effect that we got a while ago, and multiple light sources may be just as cool.  I just hope it doesn't hurt frame rates too much.

Oh c'mon Rip, the only part of the Mustang we'll see is the tail since they ALWAYS run   :D

Just Kidding!!

Nice work, Superfly...can we have spinning fan blades in the jets next...or visible jet exahust (smoke, light bend from heat of exhaust, etc)

Rip
Far more suble panel lines, and differnt tones to the panels to highlight them.
Far better silver colour
the detail in the skin is more subtle and there for more accurate.
The view out onto the wing will not have that white plank look.
Thats just from what I noticed with out looking back

I dont think you people understand :)

You see Superfly has been able to create skins like this the Entire Time. The new 51 Skin is not a result of a sudden "aquired" amount of more skill.

Those of us who are artists, already have the ability to create jaw-dropping effects,skins,2d imagery and 3d models etc...

Hitech is now seeing that users with greater MHZ cpu's and higher performance videocards are populating the market, and thusly is Raising the level of detail wither it be more polygon count, and inturn inhanceing the requirement of the video cards workload.

You will see as more and more "technology" is developed, there is a direct relationship of these enhancments due to the pace of Hardware movement at the same time.

Lets see if these appear

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"
