Found a site that has mp3 format recordings of warplane engine sounds but we can't post MP3's here. So just for somethin' to do I'll just have to post this 1st one zipped (sorry): Spitfire flyby MP3:

Sounds good Marauder, I'll just use wavesurfer to reformat to .wav maybe bring up the bass a tad.

But every time I've heard that one it's always been called a flyby by a P-51. Just the sound of a merlin engine powered plane flyin by i guess.

funny thing is i played that sound for my father a couple of years ago. He said that sounds like a spitfire, he was about 7 years old at the end of WW2 and still remembered the sounds of the planes buzzing around.
