1.03 disappointment

I was very disappointed to see no mention of Windows 2000 support for 1.03. Guess I'll have to hold off the ISDN connection and continue to lurk and learn.

It listed "some" of the features.  W2K support for 1.03 will still be there.

Im feeling a little snubbed .

Let me explain. For me the 8 player is a lot more fun thaan online. Online is always the same. Take off. get a few kills. Look back. And there is a small army on your butt. I got sick of the constant gang bang. In H2H the most I have ever had to fight is 3 guys. I can deal with that.

This is not about money. I would be happy to spend 30 bucks on a HTC hosted 8 player arena. It would be worth it for more stable connects, and kill messages if need be.

NATEDOG,

Will HTC support 88mm and 128mm Flaks against medium or high alt attack in v1.03?

Thanks.

Easymo, for once you and I are in complete agreement.  I think something along the lines of a small, dueling-oriented (non-training) arena would be swell.  Air Warrior had something like that which it called "Fighter Town," and generally it was very successful at drawing low, quick, and furious fights.

Mitsu, I beleave that flak going to be in version 1.04.

Hitech was blabbing about it in the arena a few weeks ago, though that doesn't make it "final" you know.

Hans.

Different, and more realistic AAA will add alot to the immersion of the game.

I belive HT'd reduce the gunnery effectiveness of the bombers to give a more realistic game. In the reality the bombers had to be escorted from fighters, in this game viceversa, the fighters need to be escorted......
I don't belive a good gunner of a bomber'd shoot down a fighter from 800/1k so simply as in this game. Besides why the gunner never die even when I destroy his B17/26 with my 30mms and he shoots down me while his plane is going down in several pieces.
Pls HT give us more realism. I love this game but cannot accept to be killed as soon as I close to a bomber. Do u remember the acks in the past versions: their gunnery was overestimated and u fixed it. I think u can make it with bombers gunnery too.
I destroyed many bombers in the last tour (45) but it was an unrealistic effort,w/o mentioning the times I destroyed them but didn't get the kill as they shoot me down in the same time.
It'd be great to attack a form of bombers escorted by several fiters or defend my bombers from enemy fiters, like in the history.
Please consider this question HT.
THX anyway for the fun

Luccini,

I'm mainly a buf pilot and altho i can get 3 kill missions pretty regularly, i have never ever survived when i have been attacked properly.  If your gettng killed at 800 - 1k out the i can garuntee your comeing from dead 6 or near straigh on.  if you do this, your cruisin for a bruisin.

U can attack B26's if impunity from high speed high angle passes from either above or below. Never have i survived a an attack in a b17 from a ftr coming hi 3 oclock using my speed and his to throw off my gunnery.  he may not get me first pass, but if he's smart, he won't slip into my 6 where not only do i have the balistics of my .50's, but your incoming airspeed actually shortens the distance traveled so its not really 1.0 the bullet is traveling, its significantly less.

Fly a bomber one day, you start to come of the opinion that its not the gunners that need to be fixed, but you'll start to want the planes to be able to take MORE damage.

Agreed WC! I suspect most that howl about overmodeled buff guns have never tried to gun from a buff being bounced by a savvy attacker.

Buffs are easy kills... or your worst nightmare. It all depends on how you go about attacking them.
