To do these battles, and more, right, we'll need at least:

(a) M4 Sherman (with option to strap rockets on its back, so as to provide some semblence of play balance)

(b) Soviet T-34 (considered the historical equal of the Panzer series)

(c) Tiger (which I believe is already in the works for AH development)

Would also be nice to have a German half-track weapons platform of some sort, like the German equivalent of the M-16 anti-aircraft truck.

We'll also need a map maker and game engine capable of much, much higher polygon counts and the ability to place real cover for the ground war.

...also a bunch of planes (Stuka, Hs-129, Yak-1, Yak-7, Pe-2, He-111, early model of P-38, Wellington, Beaufighter and plenty of others), but w/ skins & some imagination the present set does a better job than any other sim couls...

If you want to do the Desert you need Grant/Lee tanks, M-3 Stuarts, Pzkpfw IIIs and some artillery more than Shermans.  

The T-34 would be a nice addition.  I think the Stuart would be a fine tank as it could be a stand in for Japanese and other light armor (i.e., Italian).  

But I have to say, the scenario possibilities are intriguing.
