yeah so, just d/l'd the game today and I think its great that people are prepared to help each other out.

*this is coming from a guy who has just quit the FPS scene when (in my experience) knowbody gives a damn about anybody else.

"Aw shucks." <blushes>

StarBug, you're gonna meet a few FPS-minded people here too, but all in all this is a more mature community and cooperation with good teammates is what wins the game.  Make no mistake... this game is a challenge to learn.  It takes more skill to learn than a "twitch" RPS game.  But be persistent.  You'll find a squad, get kills, and have loads of fun.  Then you'll never leave.

The trainers in this game are outstanding.  You can always schedule a time to fly with a trainer bye-mailing them.  Their help can shorten your learning curve substantially.

Welcome to AH, and c'ya up there!

hey sancho, I managed to order myself a better Stick after all, and will not have to wait a further 2 weeks  ) (should be getting it tomorrow)

Its a seitek cyborg gold usb thing...they any good?, it only has the twisty stick, will that be OK for me or should I have purchased dedicated rudders?...hmmm, the thing is, I am a lefty and was stuck for choice.

I hear ya.  I'm a lefty myself and I was limited in my joystick choices.  I used to have a MS Sidewinder 3d Pro (the old one) which was a nice, symettrical twisty stick... great for lefties... absolutely no spiking... but it got a little too loose after 2 years so I figured I'd try a new stick and CH pro pedals.

The Saitek sounds good although I have no experience with it.  I think twisty sticks are great.  You should be fine.  CYA up there.  >
