A Plea from AGW for Russian Ophans.

This was posted on AGW and I thought maybe some of you would be interested. Posted also to WW2OL.

Plea for help!
Folks - I have an old friend, in Samara, Russia. He's involved in running a small orphanage/school for young boys. Well - the Russian Education Ministry, iin their infinite wisdom, thinks that winter clothing & shoes for a 10 year old kid is supposed to last the kid TWO years. I guess they don't have kids of their own, and dont know that in two years the kid wont fit into ANY of it. To add insult to injury, last week two lowlifes masquerading as TV repairmen somehow gained entrance to the school, convinced the kids that they were taking their TV (the only TV in the orphanage) in for repair, and promptly made of with it

Now - i was NOT asked to do this, i am doing this entirely on my own initiative, but here's what i ask:

If any of you have kids (boys) 10-14 years old who have outgrown their clothes, please send whatever you can to the address provided below.

These kids need: Winter clothes, winther shoes/boots, any old camping equipment you might part with (the school runs a wilderness program), any spare old computer parts, books... the list is actually endless, but the need for winter clothing is most acute. Any help any of you can give will be MOST appreciated by these kids.

Here is the address:

Samarskii Licey-Internat
443030 g. Samara, Krasnoarmeiskaya 114a
Russia
