Position lights. Those little lights on the wingtips and tailcone.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Played it LAN again last night. All the non-flightsim FPS guys are just way into it. That says volumes.

It's just getting better and better.

Try the COOP Winter map. Incredibly the lighter the aircraft, they just slide around on the frozen tarmac, and if you get off the runway, the slop stops you!

The detail is just incredible.

Crow tastes very good.

FB?  Those are from Il-2.. right?

The city looks great.  They still need to work on the rivers though (hehehe.. its a good thing they are frozen over ;) ).

Its most definately one of the prettiest sims out there.

FB is an add-on to Il2 that will be released in the next couple of months... it redid the models to some of the older planes (like the MiG-3, looks real nice now) and added some new effects (using pixel shaders)... also it will have a much improved campaign system.

This thread will show you some of the new features in the campaign: http://forums.ubi.com/messages/message_view-topic.asp?name=Olegmaddoxreadyroom&id=zyepc

It looks like a great offline game, which is the only reason I'm interested in it... I thought Il2 was gonna be a great offline game, but the campaign system simply sucks.

Seems to be pretty evident that I haven't.  Like I said.. they are needed.  It was one thing about Il-2 that i coudn't stand.

Its a step in the right direction with the water... the texture and reflections are nice.  Looks like they still suffer from shoreline hideousness, however.  I'd also be curious to see how it looks from altitude.  It always looked like the flattened the terrain out and painted it blue before.  Adding texture to it helps... but only down close.

I agree about the water margins; they seem to be very sharp and unatural (like the water just got poured in 5 mins ago). None of the FB screenshots I've seem to have improvements in that regard. However it's one small piece of fluff on a whole ton of eye candy.
