TIP: colour profiles/management
« on: November 08, 2002, 08:40:49 AM »
Just an observation which may help some of you:

Ok there are some good skins knocking around but I have seen some which seem well a bit bright, but it probably isn't the makers fault, as it might look exactly like the picture that he got the camo from on his monitor, but on someone else's it may be really bright ,what may be the problem is his or the viewers computer/monitor colour profiles and monitor setup are not right.

Make sure that you use the same colour profiles on the hardware that you have.

Monitoris found: right click desktop\settings\advanced\colour management.

for scanner:

find settings for you scanner and do the same-

Also if you use 'Adobe gamma' or similar to set up your monitor.

This will hopefully ensure that what you see on your monitor is what it ACTUALLY looks like, as there is probably nothing worse than making a really good skin on your monitor to find out that its bright fluo green and grey on someone elses.

I probably haven't explained myself that well but for those that didn't know now you do so read up on the web and get going with some more of those amazing skins :D

you know you have it write when the original, the scan, the image on the monitor, and the final printout are all the same colour. :)
