I love you guys - The Joy of Painting

Sandman, I apologize for calling you a liberal popsicle. Funky, may the gayders, I mean the  mean, manly RAIDERS win almost ever game now (except when the Bronco’s kill them on Monday)  and just miss the wildcard, and Drippy shorts, may you change your BMW oil every 500 miles without spilling a drop on your garage carpet in between astronaut training sessions and 787 design deadlines.

I love you guys.

Squirrels are so nice, lets all add a tree to our life and be goofy and fun. Maybe a pond. With a bush...there...

Can I drink whiskey now? This wine drunk is annoying.

I think the guys name is Bob Ross.  The Joy of Painting is the most relaxing show on the planet.  Bob's got this really relaxing voice and he just kind of drones on about what he's painting.   Better then thorazine or lithium.

Yes, and it was on Reno channel 5, it's Bob indeed. They ought to do a full 2 hours worth. He is the toejam.

Some hag is doing a creative flat-patch table peice now and I'm outta wine. Reminds me about tards all a sudden.

Alas, old Bob passed away awhile back (a good five years or so now I believe).  Still, the soothing waves of Bob Ross calming goodness continue.

Bob Ross is just amazing. I reckon he'd sort out the Middle East, Northern Ireland and any other nasty situation with one stroke of his brush. It's that voice - it's almost hypnotic.

He reminds me of the type of person who might have stabbed and shot his way through his youth, did some time inside, found God and decided to open a donkey sanctuary giving rides to disabled children. Seems like a decent guy.

he reminds me of someone that does giant bong rips. as i've always said - there's nothing like a happy little cloud here and a playful branch there to make your day.

Sweet, Bob was in the US AF, had a "bitter rival" and was stinking rich.

"Painting instructor; born in Daytona, Florida. Dropping out of school in the ninth grade, he served in the U.S. Air Force where he took his first painting lesson at an Anchorage, Alaska United Service Organizations club. After the service he attended various art schools until he learned the technique of "wet on wet" from William Alexander (later his bitter rival). This technique involved applying oil paints directly on one another to produce complete paintings (mostly landscapes) in less than an hour. In 1983 Ross began his instruction program, "The Joy of Painting," on public television. The program was eventually carried by over 275 stations and spawned an empire that included videos, how-to books, art supplies, and certified Bob Ross instructors, thus making him one of the best-known and most highly paid of all American painters. He died of cancer in 1995. "

Heheh,  "Sure Colonel...I think the sidewinder missile would look very pretty over there...right between that bush and that tree"

Kieran, don't be mad at me. Mr. Fish is the drug user, I mean drug loser, and I watched "Hoosiers" with my Moms (a teacher) 8th grade basketball team. Actually she told me about it and they lost the 1st round in the playoffs, but it sounded like it was fun. Plus I voted for all your candidates, and don't think Larry Bird is a goofy looking tall dork-like freak. Well, he kinda is. But I support other things remotley that you might, and stuff. I run 5 miles a day too, ok that's a lie, but i would if I had too. Well, that's a lie too. Nevermind.

Not a jab at you at all, Creamo. I find you immensely entertaining and insightful, even when you are ragging on me. I'm a big boy, I can take it.

Heck if it wasn't for you, Lazs, Easymo, SOB and Fatty I wouldn't have much of a reason to visit, though Mr. Fish's return is a nice turn of events. Hey, even Nash is posting more now. But, to important matters...

Bird is butt-ugly... "smurfy" even. He did play good ball, and coached good ball, too. Not bad for a guy "not good enough" for a Bob Knight team.

Hoosiers the movie was dull. Gene Hackman overacts almost as badly as Shatner. Almost.

Running is a means to an end. To say I am "enjoying" it is a far stretch at the moment, but it's the only way not to wind up on an FDB calendar of playmates. Betcha could run 5 a day if you wanted to, it isn't hard. In fact, I usually don't tell people how much I run, because it sounds pretentious. Fact is, it takes practically no talent to do well, just a willingness to do it.

Drugs? I ain't touching that one. Last debate was intended to be about law, not the virtues of the vice. I knew better, but did it anyway... Besides, Fish is fine with me.

- creamer, i don't know how being a reclusive stoner got me elected 'drug-cossack' but....

smooch to you too kieran - i hope you're even more fanatical than ever now ;)

i didn't know you were a runner btw - every now and then i go stair-garden climbing and that's about as close as i get to a routine.

every so often the streets here got too steep to have a road on them so they plant flowers in the center and put these steep stairs up the sides - sometimes they are 3-4 blocks long. it's great exercise - if i tried to run though i think i'd break something.

LOL, smurfy...one of my all time favorite words.  Is that a midwest thing?  I never hear anyone say it out here.
