WWI sim ?
« on: November 10, 2002, 11:47:10 AM »
I've flown DoA few years ago and it was actually fun. Sure, it turned into dawn of Camels sometimes, but a decent CL2 or DVII pilot could ruin their day. Se.5 were fun, as well as speedy Spads.

Anyway, is there a good WWI sim around these days ?

I know there is a mod for Il-2 with WWI planes being developed, but it needs some time though.

RB2 is what - about 5 years old? - good game though, although missing some of the better aspects of the original...it seems (doesnt it always?) that there are a couple of good looking WWI sims on the horizon

targetflanders.com  here is a screenie

There is a glide wrapper available permitting decent Rb2 3d play on an nVidia card.  I've not played it in a long time, but i did enjoy Rb2 online for quite awhile

Thanks Ghost, this looks promising. But 4th quarter 2003, ouch ! At least this seems serious, I'll stay tuned.

Anyone remember 'Wings' by Cinemaware? Now that was a game. With a really good storyline too. I hope they make something similar one day.

Does anyone have RB2 or RB2 3D that they would be willing to part with? I have lost my copy and would like to get a copy and can not find it in the stores.

Damn, I was maybe expecting it to cost around $5 - $9 with a new copy at best. Thanks for the link though whgates. I had not checked out anything online yet for it.

actually i got it there about 2 years ago for $9.95 - one wouldn't think the price went up - maybe the case of gouging file sharing is justified...but you need the CD, although there is a hack for that too...
