Not sure what you mean by "inverted", but that's a contra-rotating propellor. The props are geared to turn in opposite directions to remove prop torque (the engine crankshaft still causes a mild torque reaction) to make it easier to control the aircraft about it's axis of rotation.
The two three-bladed props also provided more thrust than the standard 4 or 5 blade propellor that later marks of Spitfire were fitted with.
The installation was somewhat complicated however.
I think in this instance this Spitfire PRXIX has been fitted with a Rolls Royce Griffon from an Avro Shackleton.
