you dont wear seatbelts in a cessna becuase of falling out or through the windshield

my experience is that i would have permanent spinal cord injury from turbulence if i hadn't had my seatbelt keeping me from hitting the roof

I've never been in a 152, but if they're anything like a 172... Once you're inside, you have to move the seats pretty far up to sit within pedal distance (I'm 6' and I have to). Once the seats are forward, it's very hard to intentionally climb out of the aircraft, never mind fall.

Something is definitely fishy...

 Right - in a coordinated turn... The pilot probably stomped the pedal a bit too hard.

 I surely did. If the ball is not centered due to rudder abuse, one feels definite sidewise pull. If you push the stick down even a bit, the person's weight - and the traction of one's butt to the seat is reduced enough to allow slippage.

 Isn't that illegal in our nanny society? As a driver you may be saddled with responcibility for the passenger in some jurisdictions. If your passenger ever flies through the window, this post, if found, may be the evidence!

Not really Miko, because contrary to a car, the plane banks so your are more pushed on your seat rather than "lateraly". Bacause the car cannot bank and stays in the horizontal plan, then the centrigugal force pushes you toward the "outside turn door".

For the non pilots, you have to know two things:

(1) doors on C150/C152s are not with a latch that you turn 90 degrees like in the biggers Cessnas or pipers or airlines. With the age (not uncomon to fly Cessnas up to the 1960s) the door can be closed but opened by a shoulder bump.

(2) The use of the seat belt is mandatory by the pilot only. As a passenger, you legally should wear it in takeoff/landing/taxi phases. On top of the law, seen a lot of old timers, who after a lunch, don't fasten their belts for comfort.

Lastly, toejam happens. I remember forgetting to attach my seat belt for whatever reason as a flight instrcutor, going on a cross country and naping. I was laying by the door and the door opened. :D  Heart pumping wake up hehehe.

9,000ft? Dammmm that's a loooooooong climb to practice steep turns.
