WTH is this? Locked up my machine with that error. Any way to fix?

I believe this means you have a driver that has chained to an interrupt it should not be chained to.

Do you have any devices you have removed the hardware but failed to remove the software from the system?

I had same problem with XP and SB-Audigy drivers.

I did download updated drivers from reative, ripped the packet apart with WinRAR and installed only audio drivers.

hmm there might be another reason too which is bad karma.
To fix this give your WRX to someone who needs a real car, like Lazs.

Its usually a hardware driver conflict of some kind Funked... did you just change something recently?

Staga, why would I want to do that (break apart the driver package) instead of just installing the drivers normally?

More info:
Yes it's Win2k
I disabled the onboard sound on my nForce and added an Audigy.
I only got this error once, was just wondering if there was an easy fix.
I have the latest and greatest drivers for everything, and Win2k is fully patched via Windows Update.

With XP I couldn't install new version of drivers without installing older ones, made for W2K, first. Intallation proggie checks if there's older drivers in computer and installs new ones IF it finds those old ones first.

Problem was that when I installed those W2k drivers which came in a CD with card I couldn't start my computer anymore without getting BSOD.

Solution:
Crack that driverpack, take updated drivers from there and install them "old fashion" without installing any older drivers first, just like I did in that other post.

Anyway if your system works now maybe you don't have to give your car away
