Come the millennium, month 12, In the home of greatest power, The village idiot will come forth to be acclaimed the leader.

Nostradamus 1555 AD

The following are the verbatim utterances of George W. Bush.

"Will the highways on the Internet become more few?"
"Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?"

"I know how hard it is for you to put food on your family."

"We ought to make the pie higher."

Texas: "the great sstate of Taxessess"

"No, I don't know that Atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered as patriots. This is one nation under God."

"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him."

"I don't know where he is. I have no idea and I really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."

I'm the commander -- see, I don't need to explain -- I do not need to explain why I say things. That's the interesting thing about being the president. Maybe somebody needs to explain to me why they say something, but I don't feel like I owe anybody an explanation.

Gore 50,996,116 48 % 21 266
Bush 50,456,169 48 % 30 271

damn electoral college.

Course if gore had been selected instead of bush, he would be getting blamed for the economy.  Maybe all is for the best.

damn electoral college.

Maybe, but I wouldn't want it as a straight popular vote either.  Remember, the vote counts the same for the folks from this survey who can't identify the Pacific Ocean on a multiple choice test!

Personal disclosure: I missed the question on religion...

Yep pesky thing the rule of law.
No way, the press would never blame anything on a Democrat. Gore would be sitting pretty, and Bin Laden would get a formal apology from the U.S. for putting the Twin Towers in front of the flight path of those hijackers.
No Sweat Erg, it's still America, trial lawyers have open season on Tobbacco companies, and now if you over weight they'll help you go after McDonalds. You guys can get rid of Dubya in two more years.
After all according to all his critics, he's a idiot who can't tie his own shoes.

Wow, thats the one I missed too (the religion one).

17% could find afganistan.

16% could find sweden

21% could find israel

56% could find italy

More people in canada than the US could find mexio.  Even people in mexico could find mexico better than the US (and to compare educational systems, 97% of mexicans could find their own country as well as the US, yet only 89% of the US test takers could find USA on the map).

I guess as the last election shows, most people are republican trailor trash......

Survey Results: U.S. Young Adults Are Lagging

Despite the daily bombardment of news from the Middle East, Central Asia, and other world trouble spots, roughly 85 percent of young Americans could not find Afghanistan, Iraq, or Israel on a map, according to a new study.

Americans ages 18 to 24 came in next to last among nine countries in the National Geographic-Roper 2002 Global Geographic Literacy Survey, which quizzed more than 3,000 young adults in Canada, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Sweden, and the United States. Top scorers were young adults in Sweden, Germany, and Italy.

Out of 56 questions that were asked across all countries surveyed, on average young Americans answered 23 questions correctly.

• nearly 30 percent of those surveyed could not find the Pacific Ocean, the world’s largest body of water;
• more than half—56 percent—were unable to locate India, home to 17 percent of people on Earth; and
• only 19 percent could name four countries that officially acknowledge having nuclear weapons.

Check this one out.  30% of the kids couldnt tell you what the western most city on this map is.

hehe good one shane.  I heard Powell is getting very frustrated.  The white house keeps reversing decisions he makes, and often keeps him 'locked in a closet' on important affairs.  Powell's too good of a man to keep down like that.

that's because of that 30%, 85% are dyslexic and 15% suffer from ADD  by which time that question came up were reduced to entering random answers.

Hey don't go there............. Actually I never understand why conservatives are viewed as racist, when it seems to be liberals are always bringing up the differences in people. General Powell ties no shoes, except for General Powell's. This debate has been fun... Erg and I both accept the fact we differ on political opinions. Anything I say to Erg is in fun, and though I don't agree with Erg, I'm all for his right to vote, speak, and express his opinions.

housesla... errr Powell's job? Thats too tatseless for even me Shane. One thing though Shane whatever the conversatiion you do come out swinging.
