Little bit of sacrifice
« on: July 21, 2000, 12:39:00 PM »
Last night I seen, in the text buffer, one of the most incredible messages I ever seen.

Being heavily attacked at A32, JG2 was there defending it. It was BigJoe, Doc, Ygsmilo, and myself.  III/JG2 pilot Ash (Young) was also there.

Apparently young Ash and Doc ran into some trouble in the form of overwhelming odds as thy flew out together to meet the enemy.

In the text buffer from young Ash, "Run Doc, I'll be the bait."  It was one of the most incredible things I have ever read in the buffer.

I have no idea how old young Ash is, but I believe in his teens.  An age where personal accomplishments are important and the concern for a fellow squad member might not be on the foremost of thought.  Not this young man.  He was ready to sacrifice so another could escape.

It was just really wonderful to see this type of action from a younger generation AH member.

Salute young Ash.  You are certainly following the footsteps of another remarkable Ash.

Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.

<S> to young ash!
We have a couple young members in our squad that have pulled my bacon out of the fire more than once at a cost to themselves. Thanks "b-town" and "wilbus".

I remember a couple of years ago giving up a nice 10 kill streak to save someone I did not know who was asking for help. "Woodog" was his call and has since become a dear friend and long time member of my squad.

Heh, young ash has already sold his soul gentlements and if you want something to do with it, talk to me.

For him it is too late trying to get brownie points from the deity upstairs who've done a *lot* of mudslinging towards me.

With people like ash, how can we lose?  ;D
