TIA and gun tracking

Don't like the idea of a national gun registration program? It might be closer than you think.  The following transcript illustrates some of the things going into the "Total Information Awareness System" from DARPA:

Q: Can you make it clear, though, and this seems directed more toward foreign nationals coming into the United States and the visa passports that U.S. citizens --

Aldridge: No. No, it's actions, it's transactions that lead to potential terrorist acts; that's what we're trying to get to.

Q: So it could be like a McVeigh renting a truck --

Aldridge: Could be buying a lot of chemicals; if there's somebody buying a lot of chemicals, it looks unusual; buying a gun; all kinds of potential activities that fall --

Q: Buying a gun? Could you flush that out --

(Cross talk.)

Aldridge: I'm just using examples of things that would go along with -- that would be patterns of an individual potentially conducting a terrorist act.

I wonder how many potential terrorists are hiding out on this BBS...

Pretty scary.  How long until they outlaw cash transactions because they aren't trackable?

buying a gun??? holy cow! bet I'm on thier list of potential terrorists!  Back when I was real big in sport shooting I was buying/trading alot.  The gunstore/range where I did most of my business had yellow sheets already filled out with my information, just needed to be dated and the gun info filled in.

Pretty soon I think we will just have "money cards" with our SSN on them.  Hell they already take away about 40% of my income before I see it.  Why not just take it all, because I certainly can't be trusted to spend it properly.

will make them think your a terrorist, then like a 3rd of the country is in trouble.

I am not worried about this, but I do not think it is right either.

When they can hold a US citizen without trial indefinitely and not submit to writs of habeas corpus and the CIA can kill any US citizen abroad because they might be planning a terrorist act why should gun registration and financial tracking worry you?
