He never saw a German aircraft, did mostly gound attacks. He used WEP only one time. He was leading an element and observed tanks in a town. He ask the rest of it's element to stay up while he was doing a gun pass.
He went down all guns blazings but before he could understood what was going on, all hell loose around him. He didn't noticed all the AAA. His wingman thought he was toast with all the tracers/expolsions around his plane.

He kicked the wep in, the only time he used it. He recall being very impressed by the extra power, felt like the whole front cowling was "twisting". He climbed back right away above 10k and headed home ... a bit shot up.

He doesn't recall the D30 having dive flaps.

When he was attacking grond vehicles and histallations with bombs, he was also using all guns during the dive and the pull up. Not that he was aiming at anything, but it was "psychological" war.

Mr Lopez is still alive in L.A. and in a very good health. After the war, he remained in the AF for a while, flew B36s and F86s.

What u guys think of the alluminium try?

Pretty damn good on the metal feel Frenchy.  The spraypaint stuff looks a little pixelized but I suppose there's really no good way around that.  But otherwise you did an excellent job.

Yeah I cannot go around that :(  If I could use more colors, it would look really good on the makings :D If I use more color for the markings, then the rest of the plane have the "diftering" look.

did you use the template?? :)   The metal looks nice.  Way better than the default white.  I like it.

The squadron code and tail letter are a bit on the large size.  Most of the 8th and 9th AF planes I've seen had the same size characters on the sides.  Also, shouldn't it have the black ETO recognition bands on the tail surfaces and a tail number?

By the time planes like p47D-30 came out air war was pretty much won by the allies, they did more ground attack than aircombat.

Very nice metalic look, but why does it have 16x50 cals (8 underneath the wing!??)
